Flamengo drew 1-1 with Athletico-PR this Sunday (16), in the Brasileirão. Mais Querido, however, also scored a goal with Gabigol, current number 99. Referee of the game, Anderson Daronco, disallowed the goal, and the CBF released the VAR audio about the move.

“Anderson Daronco: When he crosses, there's that touch where I see Gabigol between the goalkeeper and the defender, he's a little behind. Daiane Muniz (video referee): Field decision confirmed. The player who scores the goal is in an offside position. He can score”, was the statement transmitted by the video referee.

As he canceled Gabigol's goal, the only goal that counted was from Evertton Araújo. The young academy player found the back of the net in the last minutes of the match and secured a draw in the clash with Athletico-PR. Thus, Flamengo returned to Rio de Janeiro with one point under its belt.

Despite the heroic draw, Flamengo fell in position in the Brasileirão league table. Botafogo beat Grêmio 2-1 and took the lead, and Mais Querido finished the round in second place, with 18 points, one less than their rival.

Despite having lost the lead, Flamengo focuses its attention on the next Brasileirão game. The game will be against Bahia, on Thursday (20), from 8pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the tenth round of the Brazilian Championship

In an interview given after the defeat of Flamengoto Peñarol, 1-0, coach Tite was direct in responding to the boos received by the fans. The statement, marked by a frank tone, exposed the coach's pragmatic vision in relation to demanding fans and the pressure for results. “I respect the fans’ feelings. Of course I feel that (the boos), I'm human”, said Tite, recognizing the fans' frustration in the face of the setback.

Tite's speech reveals that he understands the role of fans as a fundamental part in the context of a club, especially in a team of great expression like Flamengo. By mentioning that the boos affect him as a human being, the coach demonstrates empathy, but does not fail to highlight that the only way to reverse this situation is with achievements on the field. “It can only be reversed in one way”, said the coach.

AND NOW GO?

The answer reflects Tite's experience in dealing with the pressure that comes with commanding big teams in Brazilian football. With successful spells at clubs like Corinthians , Grêmio and the Brazilian team itself, the coach has a track record that puts him in a position to understand, perhaps like few others, the relationship between performance on the field and fans' expectations. For him, this connection is clear: “Do you know how to win fans? Do you know how I won over the fans of the other clubs I played for? Win an important title”, he declared.

The phrase highlights the centrality of titles in football, especially in mass clubs like Flamengo. In Brazil, the culture of results is intense, and Tite recognizes that fans have a limited tolerance for negative results. Winning titles, for him, is the key to gaining the support of the fans, and anything other than that results in discontent: “If not, bye.”

This last part of Tite's speech summarizes the characteristic impatience of demanding fans like Flamengo. The coach makes it clear that, without obtaining relevant trophies, the relationship with the fans deteriorates quickly. The pressure is constant and is part of the daily life of those who take on the leadership of top teams. Tite seems, however, to be aware of this scenario and how it needs to be faced.

The pressure on him increased even more after the setback to Peñarol. However, the coach was aware of the criticism and adopted a realistic speech.

During the interview, he highlighted that the fans' reaction is part of the context of a club as great as Flamengo. According to him, the passion that the fans have for the team is what motivates these demonstrations in difficult times. Tite also stated that he understands dissatisfaction and that it is natural in the face of an important defeat.

FLAMENGO HAS ITS GREAT MOMENT OF CRISIS

This perception from the coach, that the pressure and Criticism is inherent to the role and the club he commands, demonstrating Tite's experience in dealing with adverse situations. He has faced similar scenarios in his career, both in charge of other clubs and with the Brazilian national team, and seems to believe that the way to overcome the crisis involves hard work and a solid performance in the next game.

Despite Despite the pressure, Tite believes that the key to reversing the situation lies in work and dedication. The coach was emphatic to affirm that only a good performance in the second leg can bring confidence back to the squad and the fans. "Only work can reverse it," said the coach, making it clear that his strategy will be to focus on preparing for the next clash.
