The match between Flamengo and Amazonas FC this Wednesday (1st), for the Copa do Brasil, marked the reunion of Tite and Adilson Batista's coaches. They faced each other again on the edge of the field after nine years and the record until then was tied and showing great balance. However, after today's clash, where Flamengo won 1-0 (goal by Pedro), the red-and-black commander began to build his advantage over his colleague.

The two coaches have already faced each other 10 times in a row. throughout history, with three wins for each side and four draws. A curious fact is that Tite faced Adilson in command of three different teams (São Caetano, Internacional and Corinthians), while the rival was in seven teams (Grêmio, Paysandu, Cruzeiro, Santos, São Paulo, Vasco and Joinville). In other words, they now add Flamengo and Amazonas.

Adilson Batista was much better at the start of the match, with three wins, two draws and just one defeat in the first six games. However, the scenario turns in favor of Tite from 2011 onwards and he is undefeated in the last four duels. The current red-black coach has two wins and two draws in the period.

The last match was in 2015 and ended in victory for the team led by Tite. Corinthians beat Joinville 1-0, in Santa Catarina, in the sixth round of the Brazilian Championship.

Forward Petterson had his visa regularized and leaves this Thursday (25) for Portugal. Flamengo loaned the 20-year-old player to Estrela Amadora, a team in Portugal's first division. The loan contract between the Portuguese club and Mengão runs until June 2025.

If Estrela Amadora chooses to buy the player, they will have to pay the amount of €750,000 (R$4.4 million ) for 60% of Petterson's economic rights. The information is from Flazoeiro. With 9 goals in 30 games in the 2023 season, the player won three titles in Mengão's youth categories: the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa do Brasil under-17, both in 2021, and the Brasileirão Under-20 in 2023. After a During his loan period at Athletico Paranaense, Petterson packed his bags for Portugal.

At the Paraná club, he debuted with a goal, but an act of indiscipline caused him to be removed and no longer play. He even had a new loan to Avaí, which didn't happen. Now he will have another chance to prove himself.

About Estrela Amadora, Petterson's new club

The club finished the last season of the Portuguese League in 14th place, with seven wins, 15 defeats and 12 draws. In the League Cup, the team was eliminated in the first round; in the Portuguese Cup, Estrela Amadora fell through in the fourth round.

The result in the Portuguese Championship, however, was considered satisfactory. This is because the team returned to compete in the local elite after 15 years. The objective was maintenance.

In the new team, Petterson can expect to find many Brazilians among his teammates. The club has names like André Luiz and Daniel Cabral (both ex-Flamengo), Bruno Brígido (ex-Criciúma) and Léo Jabá (ex-Corinthians). Currently the club plays in the pre-season of European football.

With Pedro's goal at the end of the second stage, Flamengo once again beat Amazonas in the third stage of the Copa do Brasil. On aggregate, Mengão won 2-0. Now, CRF awaits their opponent in the round of 16. Despite the classification and the two victories, we can highlight that due to the difference in the squads and the financial power of the teams, it was expected that Mengão would pass with a greater difference in the aggregate result.

Adilson Batista, Amazonas coach, held a press conference after the game and spoke about the match. He began his analysis of the duel, highlighting that his team did well in both halves of the duel.  “We played a good game. We had a good first half. We then took risks with the exchanges, we were also good in most of the second half”, began the commander.

For him, one of the team's biggest problems was the goal conceded, where he saw the team's bad luck in the deflection who ended up directly interfering in Pedro's goal, which ended the confrontation. “We were unfortunate with the goal, the deflection on the rebound. But I have to praise their behavior. Everything they did made me proud, so we could improve in the competition”, added Adilson Batista.

Now, Mengão is preparing for two important games in a row. Next Tuesday night (28), Flamengo will face Millonarios, from Colombia, at home, in the last round of the Libertadores group stage. For the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro Carioca faces Vasco on June 2nd.
