Among the 40 elite Brazilian football clubs, 32 are sponsored by bookmakers. And look, the number was even higher until Friday, when Bahia announced the break with Esportes da Sorte. Even so, the Salvador team plays its games at the Arena Fonte Nova, which has the naming rights of Casa de Aposta.
In Series In fact, Bahia is the only one that is left out of this list. Palmeiras became part of this group this season, with the arrival of Sportingbet, but they also had a bet on their women's uniform from last year.
Adding all the values that have already been released in the press with the agreements, this total reaches around R$ 1 billion, and the aggregate could be even higher depending on the goals that will be achieved by each club. Palmeiras, Flamengo and Corinthians alone are responsible for more than R$300 million.
In Series B, of the 20 clubs, eight do not are sponsored by bookmakers. Amazonas did not renew with Reals, which was in its uniform last year, while América-MG did not continue with Estrela Bet, but is already negotiating with another betting house. Athletico-PR was a partner of Esportes da Sorte, but broke the agreement in October 2024 amid police scandals. Avaí, Athletic, CRB and Cuiabá are the other four in Segundona that are not involved in betting.
José Francisco Manssur is a partner at the firm CSMV Advogados and participated as a special advisor to the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance in 2023. He explains that there is no other branch with so much money available for the soccer.
"< i>There is no other segment with the capacity and interest in investing sponsorship resources in sport that comes even close to betting companies," he explained.
Raphael Paçó Barbieri, who is a specialist in sports law and partner at CCLA Advogados, follows a similar line and adds that regularization from 2025 onwards, they make sponsors more controlled.
"The space that bets play in sports sponsorships plays a fundamental role in club revenues, and with regulation, the tendency is for this market to become even more segmented, serious and transparent in the relationship with all parties involved, creating an even more conducive environment for these investments," he added.
The owners bookmakers also see football as the perfect opportunity to combine exposure directly with the business. Many of them understand that this large injection of money helps with the high values that are being moved in this window.
"The positive impact that sports betting companies have had on the national and international football scene is visible. In Brazil, for example, club investments have increased, the level of signings is higher, and all of this is reflected within field and in the relationship with the fans. In Europe, the movement is even more traditional than here, as many countries have been regulated for longer than that because of betting," highlights Vinicius. Nogueira, CEO of BETesporte, a company that sponsors rivals Vila Nova and Goiás.

The players are adapted and prepared to face Bahia even with the poor pitch and seek victory," said the coach.

Like the coach, Saúl also emphasized the importance of adaptation. The Spanish midfielder emphasized that Flamengo is ready to change its style of play if necessary in search of a positive result: "We have to adapt: to the pitch, the weather, and whatever comes our way. If we can't play our style, we'll play differently to win," he declared.

After a title-winning stint in Flamengo's youth academy , Felipe Teresa is Palmeiras' newest signing . The 19-year-old forward terminated his contract with Flamengo at the end of September and signed a two-year deal with the São Paulo club, which will retain 80% of his economic rights. This brings the youngster to an end after a week and a half without a team.
The decision to release Felipe Teresa came from Flamengo itself, which expressed dissatisfaction with the player's behavior . The club, however, did not elaborate on the reasons and simply expressed gratitude for the time the player wore the Sacred Mantle.
In her farewell, Teresa posted a message of gratitude: "Today I end a cycle at Clube de Regatas do Flamengo , the team of my heart and which will always have a special place in my life . Despite the circumstances, I leave with gratitude for having had the opportunity to wear this shirt so heavy and full of history," she wrote.
A graduate of Ninho do Urubu, Felipe Teresa has amassed significant achievements. In 2024, he starred in scoring the winning goal in the U-20 Club World Cup against Olympiacos (GRE). He also received opportunities in the professional team under Filipe Luís , scoring against Grêmio in Porto Alegre in the Brasileirão that same year.
