Brazilian National Team captain and Flamengo defender Danilo harshly criticized the current form of the national team. In an interview with former player Romário, where he also spoke about coach Filipe Luís , the defender stated that Brazil has been "a mess" since the 2022 World Cup and that, at this moment, he does not believe in any real chances of winning the next World Cup — although he sees hope with the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti.

Danilo also highlighted how the environment of constant criticism affects the group. For him, it is essential that the athletes become stronger emotionally and that their performances on the field are no longer judged solely by their aesthetic performance, but also by the results achieved.
Despite the criticism, the full-back was confident that Ancelotti's arrival could mark a new era for the national team. For Danilo, the Italian coach's experience and authority could ease the pressure on the players and encourage internal change.
“Having a figure like Ancelotti certainly gives you more support, more respect. I believe there will be pressure for results, but perhaps that will take some of the pressure off the players. And we, as athletes, also have to admit: ' The coach is top, we need to find a way , because they've changed the coach several times and nothing has improved.'”
The Brazilian National Team returns to the field this Thursday (06) , at 8 pm (Brasília time), against Ecuador, in Guayaquil, for the World Cup Qualifiers. On Tuesday (11), the team faces Paraguay, at 9:45 pm, ending the FIFA date.

Flamengo is keeping its sights set on Santos goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão as its top target to be Agustín Rossi's immediate backup on Filipe Luís's team . The player has excelled for Santos, but negotiations are far from progressing.
