Forward Carlinhos was expelled from the match against Grêmio this past Sunday (22), in a questionable move, where the referee presented him with a straight red card without even reviewing it in the VAR. When leaving the field, the player punched the equipment cabin and referee Matheus Candançan reported the athlete's attitude in the match summary. Thus, the number 22 runs the risk of being punished by the STJD.

“Expelled for violent conduct when he slapped Walter Kannemann in the face outside the ball dispute. He needed medical attention and continued in the match. After the expulsion, on the way to the locker room, the player threw a punch in the var review area, breaking the acrylic”, says the justification for the expulsion of the center forward in the summary.

In this way, Carlinhos must be reported in two articles. Flamengo and Peñarol face each other next Thursday (26), in the second leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals. Before facing Mais Querido, the Uruguayan team entered the field this past Sunday (22) and thrashed Cerro (URU), 5-0, using only the reserves.

Like Flamengo, the Peñarol spared his starting athletes focusing on the Libertadores decision. However, even in the face of this, Diego Aguirre's team took no notice of their opponent and, away from home, scored big. Matheus Balbi, ex-Botafogo, scored twice and Facundo Batista found the net on three occasions.

FLAMENGO SITUATION

Tite also sent Flamengo to face Grêmio away from home with a team full of reserves. However, the team from Rio Grande do Sul took advantage of Mais Querido's various defensive failures and scored 3 goals, against 2 from Rubro-Negro.

Flamengo ended up being defeated in the first leg against Peñarol. Therefore, Mais Querido will need to make it 2-0 if they don't want to take penalties, as a score of 1-0 would be a draw on aggregate. However, Rubro-Negro must pay attention, as a draw on the normal score means Peñarol will qualify.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATION

Now, the squad of Flamengo focuses on the big decision against Peñarol, in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Mais Querido returns to the field next Thursday (26), at 7pm, in Uruguay. Remembering that Rubro-Negro needs to reverse the 1-0 score to qualify for the semi-finals.
