Flamengoand Corinthians face each other in this Sunday (20), in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final. The match will be held at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, at 4pm (Brasília time). However, the confrontation is not limited to the field. Rodrigo Garro, a player on the São Paulo team, commented on the "war" behind the scenes between the directors of Rubro-Negro and Timão.
“We know the magnitude. It's a great match, which is important for the club and us players. There are also a lot of things outside the four lines that don't correspond to us players, we have to concentrate on the field, but we are focused on what we have to do. Now we have to rest and celebrate this victory and then think about Sunday”, said Rodrigo Garro.
'WAR' OUT OF FIELD
The tension between Flamengo and Corinthians started before the matches, fueled by off-field issues. One of the points of friction was the negotiation involving Hugo Souza, which generated discontent between the two clubs. Furthermore, the change in the date of the second leg, which was originally scheduled for last Thursday (17), also angered the Corinthians board. The CBF decided to postpone the game until this Sunday (20) to prevent Fla from being missing due to calls for Data Fifa.
SEMIFINAL SITUATION
With the 1-0 victory at Maracanã, Flamengo has the advantage of the drawin the second leg. If Corinthians wins by a goal difference, their place in the final will be decided on penalties. If the São Paulo team wins by two or more goals, Mais Querido will be eliminated.
