Flamengo is in the process of negotiating with Southampton to acquire Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz. The transfer, which involves a fee of approximately 25 million euros, has not yet been confirmed, but talks are advanced.
The negotiation for the 21-year-old is based on an offer from Flamengo to 18 million euros, equivalent to R$109 million. Southampton has not yet officially commented on the proposal. The total value of the transaction discussed in the negotiations is around 21.4 million pounds (approximately 25 million euros).
In addition to Flamengo, other European teams are also in contention for the player. Tottenham and Lazio have shown interest in Carlos Alcaraz, but their proposals involve loan, a condition Southampton are not inclined to accept at the moment.
Carlos Alcaraz's brother, Braian Alcaraz, commented on the possible transfer in an interaction with fans on Instagram. “If it’s the best for both of us, I hope it happens,” said Braian, referring to the possible move to Flamengo.
Flamengo is running out of time to finalize the signing, as the transfer window closes on September 2nd. With less than a month until the market closes, the Rio club needs to speed up negotiations to guarantee the desired reinforcement.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Carlos Alcaraz, Argentine midfielder from Flamengo, was once again available to Tite after serving a suspension in the last game against Vasco, valid for the Brazilian Championship. Now, he is preparing for the decisive Libertadores clash against Peñarol (URU), where he should be one of the fundamental pieces of the red and black squad.
Since August 30th, when he started training at Ninho do Urubu, Alcaraz has been attracting attention for its performance. His first match for Mengão took place on September 1st, in a game against Corinthians, when the midfielder came on in the second half and had a performance that pleased both the coaching staff and the fans.
ADAPTATION PERIOD
After a period of 17 days of training, Alcaraz is fully adapted to the team's style of play. This time was essential for coach Tite to better understand the player's qualities and potential on the field, preparing him for future important challenges with Mais Querido.
MILLIONAIRE HIRING
Carlos Alcaraz arrived at Flamengoin a negotiation that involved 17.6 million euros (approximately R$108 million), with Flamengo acquiring 80% of its economic rights from Southampton, from England. The midfielder, who is just 21 years old, signed a five-year contract with the Rio club, valid until August 2029.
