Flamengo and Grêmio meet this Thursday (13), in the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be at Maracanã, at 8pm (Brasília time). Rubro-Negro, with 14 points, is looking for victory to regain the lead in the competition. Imortal, on the other hand, needs to win to avoid the risk of falling into the relegation zone.

Rubro-Negro arrives motivated after a 6-1 defeat in the classic against Vasco and its main objective is to regain the lead lost to Botafogo last night (11). In contrast, Tricolor is coming off a defeat in the Brasileirão against Bragantino and occupies 13th place, with six points, having played two fewer games than most teams.

Flamengo will have five absences due to of the Copa América: Chilean Erick Pulgar and Uruguayans Varela, Viña, De La Cruz and Arrascaeta. In addition to them, midfielder Allan and full-back Ayrton will also be absent against Grêmio, due to injury.

In the starting lineup, Tite will need to improvise on the left flank. As tested in Tuesday's training, Léo Pereira will assume this role. In addition, Léo Ortiz will be used as a midfielder, a position in which he already played in the 2-1 defeat to Bolívar in La Paz.

Without his main offensive power players throughout the Copa América, Mengão should provide more opportunities for the young players in the squad, such as Lorran, Igor Jesus, Matheus Gonçalves, and even striker Carlinhos, who has only played twice since his signing.
