Last Tuesday night (14), the Deliberative Council of Flamengo approved the sponsorship contract with Shopee. The Chinese company will print its brand on the sleeve of professional and women's football shirts, as well as the basketball team's shorts, for R$12 million per year.
It is worth remembering that Flamengo was sponsored by Mercado Livre. However, the brand that printed the back of the shirt offered a price considered low to renew, ending up being replaced by Shopee. Thus, the Rubro-Negro store will be transferred from one platform to another. The company has committed to charging lower fees to store owners, which are around 19 to 20 of the former sponsor.
BENEFITS TO FANS AND FLAMENGO
In addition, Flamengo will also be able to earn money from sales. In addition to the fixed R$12 million and actions provided for in the contract, the benefits to fans will be in the form of coupons, where the company has committed to delivering R$1 million in coupons to fans.
"They committed in contract to dedicate one million reais, not in money to the public, but in coupon discounts that Flamengo decides how to do. Now there will also be one. coupon, I can have, for example, coupons for 10 reais, 100 thousand coupons, or coupons for 20 reais. We will define it", began Marcos Senna, before completing:
.
"In total, there is a budget of one million reais, which they will provide one million reais in coupons for us to give to our fans in discounts for purchases on Shopee. This is a step forward for us, because we now have not only fixed money, but also this million", said Marcos Senna.
MEDIA COLLECTION
In the contract approved by the Deliberative Council,Flamengo will also be able to raise a good amount from the media. This is because Shopee has a high number of users on the application and they will give part of this space to Rubro-Negro to use. The value should be around R$6 million, but Senna preferred not to confirm the amount.
"They are a cannon of media, like us. They have 70 million users coming into their app every month. So, what do they promise us? he has an idea. I even say it here, informally. Around 6 million reais. Between 5 and 7 million reais", says the manager.
In addition, the director of Mais Querido highlights thatFlamengo chose not to put the amount stipulated in the contract, as the company's interest was to share the R$12 million in sponsorship between payment in cash and benefits. However, the way it was done, Rubro-Negro receives the full amount he wants and also gains the possibility of the company's media.
