Flamengo's elimination against Bayern Munich (GER) served as a lesson for Domènec Torrent. Former Flamengo coach and currently in charge of Monterrey (MEX), the Spaniard mentioned the game last Sunday (29) and praised the attitude of Filipe Luís' team, on the eve of the duel against Borussia Dortmund (GER), this Tuesday (1st), for the round of 16 of the Club World Cup.

“I’m not going to explain (our tactic to stop Borussia Dortmund). We know what we want to do and how we want to do it, but German teams always compete very well, very strongly. I don’t know if you had the opportunity to see it, but yesterday (Sunday), if anyone saw the Flamengo game… For me, Filipe Luís’ Flamengo played very well against Bayern Munich. And when we have to suffer, we have to defend with all our strength,” he added.
Signed by Monterrey on the eve of the World Cup, in May this year, Domènec led the team to the round of 16 , after finishing second in a difficult group, which included Inter Milan (ITA) and River Plate (ARG), who were eliminated from the competition.
Now, the challenge is against Borussia Dortmund , this Tuesday (1st), at 10 pm (Brasília time). If they qualify, Monterrey will face the winner of Real Madrid (ESP) x Juventus (ITA), in the quarterfinals.
Despite not having completed the 2020 Brasileirão campaign, Dome has the competition title on his resume . The coach was in charge of the team for 18 rounds and, in total, led Flamengo in 24 matches: there were 14 wins, four draws and six defeats.

The European transfer window has been closed since early August, but Flamengo almost saw another former player play in the Premier League . Manchester United made an official offer for goalkeeper Kauã Santos , but it was unsuccessful.
