The Flamengo is known for the large number of idols and stars who wore the red-black shirt during the club's history. However, there is one that stands out as the greatest of all. Logically we are talking about Zico, Gávea's eternal number 10. In this sense, the former player will receive another homage, this time, from Rio City Hall.

< Eduardo Paes, mayor of the city, will place a statue of Galinho in Quintino, a neighborhood in the north where Zico was born and grew up. The monument had already been promised by Paes last year, in 2023 and only now will it come to life. Inauguration this weekend

This morning On Thursday, the monument arrived at a square in the neighborhood and is already being installed. According to journalist Pablo Raphael, from Gazeta do Urubu, the inauguration will be this Saturday, the 24th, at 9:30 am. In July this year, Santos showed interest in signing striker Carlinhos, currently at Flamengo. However, a FIFA regulation interrupted negotiations. According to the entity's rules, a player can be registered for up to three different clubs in the same season, but can only play official matches for two of these teams.

FIFA REGULATIONS PREVENT REGISTRATION

Before his arrival at Mais Querido, Carlinhos played for Nova Iguaçu, participating in competitions such as the Campeonato Carioca and the Copa do Brasil. This means that, according to article 5 of FIFA's Regulation on the Status and Transfer of Players, the striker had already played for two clubs during the season, which would prevent him from officially playing for Santos in 2023.

A The only exception provided for in the regulations would be a transfer to a club from an association with the opposite calendar to the Brazilian one, as happens in Europe, where the seasons run from August to July. As the move to Santos does not fit into this situation, the São Paulo club withdrew its interest.

CARLINHOS GETS CHANCES AT MENGÃO

In addition to the regulatory obstacle, Carlinhos also showed no interest in leaving Flamengo. The striker, who started to receive more opportunities under the command of coach Tite, has been used mainly in the absence of Pedro, who is recovering from an injury. The young player has already entered the field in Libertadores and Brasileirão matches, contributing with two important goals against Atlético-MG and Vitória.

With Pedro's injury, Bruno Henrique has been improvised in the center forward position, occupying the starting position at Flamengo . Gabigol, who also competes for Mengão's attack and has already scored four goals this season, remains one of the team's offensive options.
