FlaBasquete returns from the Northeast to Rio de Janeiro with two victories under its belt. After the triumph over Unifacisa, in Campina Grande, Gustavo De Conti's men beat Fortaleza Basquete Cearense, 93 to 73, on Tuesday night (2). With the result, the Gávea team is two games away from confirming first place in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) regular season.

Now, Mais Querido returns to Rio de Janeiro for matches against Corinthians, Saturday (6), at 5:10 pm, and against Pinheiros, Monday (8), at 8 pm.

THE MENGÃO GAME< /b>

Maique opened the scoring of the match with a business card dunk. Rubro-Negro remained superior throughout the first quarter, with Gui Deodato as the highlight, with 11 points in the period and three converted triple balls. Taking advantage of the opponent's inefficient defense, which also made a series of errors, Flamengo did not fail in its aim, took advantage of the spaces and opened up a huge advantage on the scoreboard: 29 to 11.

In the second quarter, Cuello started well off the bench and hit two triples. Gui and Didi also added from the perimeter. The game was more balanced compared to the first period and Fortaleza even attempted a reaction, but Rubro-Negro increased the gap by another seven points, going into the locker room winning 51 to 26.

The The teams exchanged blows in the third period, in the rhythm give and take. Fortaleza got their aim right and the red and black defense ended up conceding more points in the quarter. On the red and black side, Maique and Deodato were the offensive highlights of the Gávea team. At the end of 10 minutes, 21 points for each side and the 25 point advantage for Mais Querido remained.

Growing in the match, Fortaleza started by winning the last quarter. With victory practically assured, coach Gustavo De Conti gave minutes to the boys Felipe Motta and Matheus Leoni. Even so, Rubro-Negro turned the score around and secured, without being threatened in the 40 minutes with the ball in play, another victory for the NBB.

I was in Tokyo, I was the youngest on the team, I was going to gain Olympic experience and experience, to be among the best in the world. I took everything I learned in Tokyo and used it to work during these years until I arrived in Paris, and I will definitely arrive better than I arrived in Tokyo. I'm going to try to be among the top 10 in the world in the individual all-around. Any opportunity I have to take a final on the fixed or parallel bar, I will be prepared. The general individual is our focus. If everything goes much better than we expect, we want to be in the top five”, said Diogo.

Rebeca Andrade

“My expectations is that we arrive happy and healthy to give our best performances and represent our country and our club in the best way possible. As the years went by, we built many things within gymnastics, becoming even more physically and mentally mature to overcome obstacles. Unlike all countries, Brazil is very happy, cheerful, charismatic, everyone notices this and wants to be close to us”, said the Olympic champion.

Jade Barbosa< /p>

“I hope we can enjoy every day from preparation to competition day. Every day can make a difference in the smallest details. We are anxious but want to enjoy each day. This team that is planned is a more experienced team, they are girls who have already competed in many games, world medalists, Olympic medalists. It's a very special team that Brazil has. The majority are predominantly from Flamengo, so we are very honored and privileged to be able to enjoy this moment. May we be very happy in Paris.” Flavia Saraiva

“Very happy to be able to represent my country once again at the Olympic Games. A different cycle from Tokyo, which had the pandemic. In 2016 it was my first Olympics. I hope to be very happy and represent my country in the best possible way”, commented the little giant.

Lorrane Oliveira

“We have been preparing for many years. We train together, we want to get there and do our best. Unlike other years, our experience is much better, as a team, individually, we are happy, we feel good in the gym. Let's get there in the best way. The result will come, for sure.”
