Sesc Flamengo confirmed 10 contract renewals for the 2025/2026 season. Rubro-Negro used social media to announce the permanence of the wing spikers: Helena, Karina Souza and Mikaela ; central players; Adria, Lorena and Juju ; liberos: Laís and Victória ; setter: Clara Rodrigues ; and opposite Camila Mesquita.

These are the first announcements of the players who will join the red-black squad next season, which will already have direct investment from Flamengo. After 10 renewals, the expectation is that Mais Querido will start announcing the reinforcements from this Sunday (1) or Monday (2).

UNDERSTAND

In principle, the contracts of all athletes usually run until May 31 , which prevents the club from making any signing announcements earlier. The only one already confirmed is Serbian center Masa Kirov , announced by the group of businessmen.

Karina and Helena fought for a starting spot on the team, with a lot of alternation throughout the year. Juju and Lorena were the central pair throughout the Women's Super League , while Laís had a performance that caught the attention of Zé Roberto in the National Team.

Mikaela, Adria, Victória and Clara are young athletes who also alternate in the youth categories . The first two received opportunities in the main team, while the other two joined the cast. Last Friday, Sesc Flamengo announced the departure of Michelle, Edinara and Rose, who join Brie O'Reilly as the four athletes who will leave Fla after 24/25.

HIRING WILL BE MADE

After the renewals, the expectation is for the announcements of reinforcements . In addition to Masa Kirov, four other athletes are on their way to defend Sesc Flamengo. They are: outside hitter Simone Lee, opposite hitter Tainara Santos and setters Giovana Gasparini and Vivian Lima.

Starting next season, the project will be managed directly by Flamengo , which has reached a new agreement to invest in the team and participate in strategic planning. The goal is to compete for the Women's Super League title and return to the Club World Cup within three years.

The changes in the group led by Bernardinho began a few days ago, with the announcement that the contract of American Brie was ending, and gained momentum with the confirmation of the departures of important athletes . Michelle, one of the names most identified with the project, leaves the club after three consecutive seasons , with a leadership role and a strong connection with the fans . At 38 years old, the outside hitter already has a certain destiny: she will defend Praia Clube in the 2025 season.

With a winning history, Michelle wore the Sacred Mantle between 2022 and 2025, a period in which she acted as captain and won two Campeonato Carioca titles. However, her history with Bernardinho's project is even longer: between 2004 and 2010, the player went through two other phases, being a two-time Superliga champion.

STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS

Chosen by Bernardinho to lead the group on and off the court, Michelle became a symbol of the union between youth and experience. In recognition, the fans organized a banner with the athlete's face, a gesture that moved the number 17 player: “Sesc RJ Flamengo thanks you for all your dedication and dedication to the team in the 24/25 season. Good luck in your new journeys. Thank you!”

PAINFUL EXITS FOR THE FANS

Another player who is ending the cycle is setter Rose, who had been on the team for two seasons. Brie's reserve in the first half and taking on a leading role in decisive moments, the player has signed with Batavo Mackenzie. Opposite Edinara, who arrived for the 2024/25 season, will also join the Minas Gerais team. She says goodbye to Rubro-Negro after a year of contribution and will continue in the new project alongside Rose.

In an open letter published this Friday, Michelle gave a long thank you to the club, the fans and coach Bernardinho. In the text, the outside hitter recounted the personal impact of her time at Flamengo : “Today, 5/30, I end a cycle of 3 incredible years, which were, without a doubt, the best seasons of my career. I came in as a different person and I leave completely different.”

In an attempt to overhaul its football department, Santos is still looking for new directors to avoid relegation to Série B. As such, the São Paulo team is working behind the scenes to appoint a new football director, and one of the names mentioned is Bruno Spindel, current director of Flamengo.

According to information from journalist Ana Canhedo, in addition to Bruno Spindel, Santos also has Marcos Braz and Fabinho Soldado, former Flamengo directors, on the list. In addition, Alexandre Mattos, current football director at Cruzeiro, is also a target for the São Paulo team.

SPINDEL SURVEYS

It is worth remembering that another club from the Brazilian Serie A recently showed interest in Bruno Spindel: Atlético-MG. However, negotiations did not progress at the beginning of the year, after the election of Luiz Eduardo Baptista, and the director continues to work at Mais Querido.

SPINDEL AT FLMENGO

Spindel joined Flamengo in 2015 to be the club's marketing director and remained in the role until 2018. Soon after, he was promoted to become the team's CEO. Finally, Bruno became executive director in June 2019 and remains in the role to this day.

ABOUT THAT...

While Bruno Spindel continues to receive inquiries, Flamengo's squad focuses its attention on the next matches of the season. The Mais Querido returns to the field on Sunday (1), in a match against Fortaleza, at 6:30 pm, at Maraca. The match will be valid for the 11th round of the Brasileirão and could be worth the leadership of the competition.
