Sesc Flamengo achieved an important victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube, this Tuesday (7), and sealed its place in the final of the Carioca Volleyball Championship. After the setback against Fluminense in the previous round, Bernardinho's team reacted with authority and won by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25/21, 25/23 and 25/23.
Despite a brief stumble in the third set, when the opponent showed a strong reaction , Mais Querido maintained control of the match for most of the time and ensured its return to the state final.
The first two sets had a similar storyline: Sesc Flamengo dominated technically and tactically, but faced resistance from Tijuca Tênis Clube. In the first, the red-and-black team opened up a six-point lead, but saw their opponent close in late in the set, finishing 25-21.
The balance continued in the second set. The teams were tied at 20-20, until Mengão managed to open up a two-point lead and close it out at 25-23, extending their lead. In the third set, Tijuca fought back and took an 11-4 lead, exploiting Sesc Flamengo's defensive lapses. However, Bernardinho's team held their nerve, narrowed the gap, and regained control in the final stretch, turning the score around to 25-23.
With this result, Sesc Flamengo secured a spot in the final of the Rio de Janeiro Volleyball Championship, where they will once again face Fluminense—the team they defeated in the previous round. The final promises to be a tight contest, featuring two of the strongest squads in the state.
Mengão started the match well, but let the tricolor resurface, lost the rhythm and suffered the first defeat in the state by 3 sets to 1

After debuting with a comfortable victory over Tijuca , Sesc Flamengo ended up defeated by Fluminense, this Friday (3), in the Carioca Volleyball Championship. Rubro-Negro started the match with authority, completely dominating the first set, but saw the rival react and win the following three sets, confirming the comeback in 3 to 1 .
The start of the game was overwhelming for Sesc Flamengo . Fluminense even tried to vary the play, betting on drop balls and short balls, but the Rubro-Negro responded well and quickly opened up an advantage in the game .
After the first technical timeout, the team took off on the scoreboard: 16-9, stringing together six consecutive points . At 21-9, they just had to manage the pace until they closed the set at 25-13, with Simone Lee blocking on the decisive point.
From the second set onward, the scenario changed completely. Fluminense grew in the match, took control of the scoreboard, and demonstrated superiority . Sesc Flamengo struggled to convert the ball and struggled in attack, which allowed their rival to equalize and turn the match around.
The following sets ended 25-19 and 25-20 for Tricolor. In the fourth set, Flamengo managed to even things up and outperformed Fluminense , but Fluminense maintained control and closed the match 26-24, securing a 3-1 victory.
While dominant, Flamengo showed strong collective momentum. Lorena excelled in the early attacks, Laís distributed the plays well, and Simone Lee was decisive on defense in the first set, although her performance declined along with the team.
