After the 1-0 victory against Bahia, the coach Tite used the press conference to detail and defend Flamengo's tactical choices. Tite opened his speech expressing gratitude to the Flamengo, especially for the patience shown throughout the game. According to the coach, the tactical scheme he intends to implement at the club involves a series of actions that, at first glance, may seem less aggressive or daring, but which, in the long term, aim to guarantee control of the match and, consequently, the victory.
One of the points most emphasized by Tite was the use of lateral passes and setbacks. He explained that these movements are part of a broader strategy, which seeks to maintain possession of the ball and dictate the pace of the game. "The lateral pass or retreat is not always an action of fear or insecurity", stated the coach. "It's often a way of controlling the game, reorganizing the team on the field and waiting for the right moment to attack."
Tite's speech goes against some criticisms made by fans who, during the game, demonstrated dissatisfaction with what they called a "lack of objectivity". For many, Flamengo should be more incisive in the attack and looking for the goal at all times, a characteristic that was a hallmark in past seasons. Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Red-and-black striker is the target of speculation in the transfer market

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season.
