Maurício Salgado, better known as Bari, is from São Paulo and is 53 years old. With a career spanning more than two decades in women's football, Salgado has played for prominent clubs and for the Brazilian University Team, where he played for 14 years. During this period, he led the team in world competitions, helping to shape the future of women's football in Brazil.
His club career includes remarkable experiences with teams such as São Bernardo, São Caetano, Corinthians, Audax and Vitória de Santo Antão. Between 2019 and 2023, Bari was at Internacional, where he made history by winning three editions of the Campeonato Gaúcho and reaching the final of the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2022. At the club from Rio Grande do Sul, he surpassed the mark of 100 games, consolidating his reputation as a of the country's leading technicians.
A ARRIVAL AT FLAMENGO AND CONQUISTAS
Maurício Salgado took charge of Flamengo Womenin 2023, starting their journey in a friendly against Colo-Colo. Despite initial challenges, he quickly made his mark by winning the Taça Guanabara and Campeonato Carioca in his first season. In 2024, Mais Querido did not perform as expected in the Brazilian Championship, finishing ninth and being eliminated in the first phase.
Even so, Bari maintained his regularity in the State, taking the CRF one more title Carioca, consolidating the club's hegemony in the competition. Preparation for the 2025 season brought new features to the squad led by Salgado. Flamengo hired eight reinforcements and promoted youth players to the main team. Among the new players, striker Vitória Almeida is the only one who has not yet been officially presented.
REINFORCEMENTS AND PLANS FOR 2025
With a renewed group and the integration of young people talents, Bari plans to reposition Mengão among the highlights of national women's football.The coach is betting on a mix of experience and youth to achieve better results in the Brazilian Championship and defend another Carioca title.

The current coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers (ENG), Portuguese Vítor Pereira, previously managed Corinthians and Flamengo in Brazil. Despite a strong campaign with the São Paulo club, the coach failed to win over the red-and-black fans and ended up having a stint marked by criticism . "(My time in Brazil was) a life experience. We're always changing. If I had a crystal ball to predict the future, I would change something in my life. I made the decisions I felt I had to do, the decisions I had to make, " said Vítor Pereira.
He then added: "And they're part of life and our growth. I think we grow a lot in the moments when we're under pressure, when we suffer. I've had beautiful moments in Brazil and moments of suffering . It's part of football," the coach concluded.
Vítor Pereira arrived at Flamengo at the beginning of 2023, after the board, then chaired by Rodolfo Landim, opted to leave Dorival Júnior , coach who won the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil in 2022. In charge of Rubro-Negro, Pereira lasted only three months.
In 18 matches, they recorded 10 wins, seven losses, and one draw, but suffered setbacks in every competition they competed in.
