On the night of this last Wednesday (30), the Meninas da Gávea drew 1-1 with Cruzeiro, in a game valid for the Brasileirão Feminino. Thus, coach Rosana Augusto remains undefeated in command of the red-black team.

MATCH SUMMARY

Despite playing away from home, Flamengo managed to take the lead. In the 45th minute of the first half, Jucinara scored a free kick with skill and opened the scoring. However, Cruzeiro equalized in the 29th minute of the second half, with Letícia Moreno. The home team did everything they could to try to turn the game around, but the girls from Mais Querido managed to hold on to the result.

FLAMENGO IN THE G-8

With the draw, Mais Querido entered the G-8 of the Brasileirão Feminino, which gives spots in the quarterfinals. However, Rubro-Negro has eight games played. Thus, teams like Bahia and Bragantino, who still play in the round, can surpass Flamengo , which reached 11 points. Cruzeiro, on the other hand, temporarily took the lead, with 20.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME

In the next round, Flamengo could face the first-placed team again. This is because Rubro-Negro will face Ferroviária, on Sunday (4), starting at 11 am, at the Fonte Luminosa Stadium, in Araraquara.

The São Paulo team could take the lead this Thursday (1), when it faces Fluminense, in Rio de Janeiro. In the event of a draw, Ferroviária will take the lead with the same 20 points as Cruzeiro, but with an advantage in goal difference. In case of victory, the Araraquara club will go to 22 and isolate itself.

Sesc Flamengo achieved an important victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube, this Tuesday (7), and sealed its place in the final of the Carioca Volleyball Championship. After the setback against Fluminense in the previous round, Bernardinho's team reacted with authority and won by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25/21, 25/23 and 25/23.

Despite a brief stumble in the third set, when the opponent showed a strong reaction , Mais Querido maintained control of the match for most of the time and ensured its return to the state final.

CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE

The first two sets had a similar storyline: Sesc Flamengo dominated technically and tactically, but faced resistance from Tijuca Tênis Clube. In the first, the red-and-black team opened up a six-point lead, but saw their opponent close in late in the set, finishing 25-21.

The balance continued in the second set. The teams were tied at 20-20, until Mengão managed to open up a two-point lead and close it out at 25-23, extending their lead. In the third set, Tijuca fought back and took an 11-4 lead, exploiting Sesc Flamengo's defensive lapses. However, Bernardinho's team held their nerve, narrowed the gap, and regained control in the final stretch, turning the score around to 25-23.

FLUMINENSE WILL BE THE OPPONENT

With this result, Sesc Flamengo secured a spot in the final of the Rio de Janeiro Volleyball Championship, where they will once again face Fluminense—the team they defeated in the previous round. The final promises to be a tight contest, featuring two of the strongest squads in the state.

FLUMINENSE REACTS AND TURNS THE GAME AROUND

From the second set onward, the scenario changed completely. Fluminense grew in the match, took control of the scoreboard, and demonstrated superiority . Sesc Flamengo struggled to convert the ball and struggled in attack, which allowed their rival to equalize and turn the match around.

The following sets ended 25-19 and 25-20 for Tricolor. In the fourth set, Flamengo managed to even things up and outperformed Fluminense , but Fluminense maintained control and closed the match 26-24, securing a 3-1 victory.
