Flamengo and Banco de Brasília (BRB) signed a sponsorship renewal agreement that will involve the display of the bank's brand on the shoulder blade of the red and black uniform. The contract, which is scheduled to run from April to December, represents a total investment of R$19 million by BRB. However, the definitive formalization of the contract still depends on approval by the club's deliberative council.

The renewal announcement was made by the parties involved in an official statement, highlighting the continuity of a partnership that has already been yielding results. fruits for both parties. Flamengo, one of the most popular and successful clubs in the country, thus maintains an important source of revenue, while BRB reinforces its presence in the sports market, associating itself with one of the strongest brands in Brazilian football.

RENEWED "MILLIONS" PARTNERSHIP

The partnership between Flamengo and BRB is not recent. The bank had already printed its brand on the sleeves of the club's uniform in previous seasons, which will now extend to the shoulder blade, a highly visible position in games and television broadcasts. This exposure is strategically important for the bank, which seeks to expand its visibility and reach among the consumer public.

The renewal of the sponsorship contract occurs at a crucial moment for the Flamengo, which faces financial challenges and seeks to maintain its economic stability amidst a scenario of uncertainty caused by the COVID pandemic- 19. In this context, partnerships like this become essential for the club, helping to guarantee resources for investments in infrastructure, hiring players and other priority areas.

However, it is worth highlighting that the formalization of the contract is still subject to approval by Flamengo's deliberative council. This is a standard procedure in negotiations of this nature, aiming to ensure transparency and compliance with the club's internal guidelines. The expectation is that approval will occur without major obstacles, allowing the partnership between Flamengo and BRB to proceed as planned.

Speculated as a possible reinforcement of Flamengo to fill the gap left by Pedro, striker Anthony Martial is free on the market, but has not played since December 9, 2023. On that occasion, Manchester United, his former club, entered the field to face Bournemouth and lost 3-0 in the Premier League. Martial was a starter and played for 56 minutes.

At the beginning of the year, the French striker suffered a groin injury that required surgery. Therefore, he was away for around 42 days, only returning in March. Even though there were three months left on his contract, Manchester United chose to let go of the player. Since then, Martial has been evaluating his next club and Flamengo is paying attention to his movements.

Just like Flamengo, Anthony Martial suffered from injuries in 2023/24. The star had several physical problems that kept him away from the field for a total of 60 days. Due to muscle pain, the player was not available for United in 12 matches last season.

Status of the deal between Flamengo and Anthony Martial

If the If Flamengo is really interested in the Frenchman, they will have to race against time and agree on the signing by Monday (9). Registration for free players is closing. According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, who works at the Gianluca Dimarzio portal, the deal could come to fruition soon.

Offered to Flamengo by his staff, Martial also had a drop in his personal numbers. In the 2022/23 season, the player scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. In 2023/24, it was just one goal and no pass that resulted in the ball in the opponents' net.

The Bank of Brasília (BRB) recorded recurring profits of R$200 million in 2023, an increase of 24.4% compared to the previous year. The customer base grew 13.3%, to 7.6 million. Now, the bank is entering a new phase of consolidation, after very strong expansion in recent years. The credit portfolio increased by 17.7%, to R$35.8 billion. In individuals, the increase was much smaller, 1.6%, to R$18.0 billion. The expansion was driven by personal credit, while payroll loans, which account for R$13.7 billion, fell 4.2%. In legal entities, the expansion was 36.5%, to R$4.9 billion. Default ended December at 2.25%, up from 2.12% in the previous year.

“This performance was achieved in the midst of a challenging year, with domestic and international instability. The decisive investments in technology, innovation and expansion made by the bank over the last five years have shown excellent results, but now we are entering a new moment, a phase of consolidation”, says the president of BRB, Paulo Henrique Costa.

He points out that in five years the bank went from 650 thousand to 7.6 million customers; from R$15.2 billion to R$49.3 billion in total assets; from R$9.1 billion to R$35.8 billion in credit portfolio. “We stopped being a regional bank and became national, we changed scale and now it is time to consolidate this position, invest in technology, improve processes, gain operational efficiency, slow down the expansion of expenses.”

Regarding the 2023 result, Costa highlights the 28.8% increase in financial margin, helped by the change in portfolio mix; the results of subsidiaries, such as finance, the security area, which reached R$1 billion in premiums, and the payments segment; and revenue from services, which jumped 18.9% in the year, also reflecting diversification efforts.

Nação BRB Fla, a digital bank in partnership with Flamengo, reached 3.5 million open accounts and 1 million activated cards. Last week, the bank announced that it is reformulating the partnership, with the creation of a new company, in which Flamengo will have a purchase option of up to 45%. The parties will have three contracts. The first two, with duration
