This Sunday, the 28th, Flamengo faces Atlético-GOat Maracanã at 4pm, in a clash that promises to move the red and black fans. The match gains special attention, not only due to the clash on the field, but also due to the new security and convenience measures implemented in the stadium.

Tickets for the duel went on sale last Saturday (20), and there are still tickets available for all sectors of Maracanã. One of the big news of this match is the implementation of facial biometrics as a means of access, now also available for the North sector.

FLAMENGO HAS NEW DIRECTIONS

This measure aims to prevent the action of scalpers, ensuring that tickets are purchased by fans in a fair and safe way. Before the adoption of facial biometrics, the sector Norte often sold out quickly, however, with new technology, tickets are still available, even five days after sales begin.

Availability half-price tickets in all sectors makes the event more accessible for students, seniors and other beneficiaries of this right, encouraging the presence of a diverse audience at the stadium. For Flamengo, this clash is crucial in the search for a prominent position in the Brazilian Championship. The team, buoyed by recent good results, is looking for another victory to remain among the top placed. Atlético-GO, bottom of the competition, comes to Maracanã with the difficult mission of trying to surprise and win points away from home.

Gabigol remained away by the board and did not participate in the team's victory Flamengo 2-1 over Cuiabá, last Wednesday (20). In an interview with the 'GE' portal, Rubro-Negro's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, revealed details about the number 99's farewell match. The director stated that the game against Vitória, scheduled for December 8th at Maracanã, it should be the striker's last for the club.

“Possibly, there is Flamengo x Vitória, there is Flamengo x Inter . I think this party should be held in Rio de Janeiro. It's how the athlete wants it, how we want it. And I think it's also important for us to talk about the balance, what Gabriel's time here was like. Gabriel was extremely important, the most important titles were still conquered by him, by the squad that helped him. And in the end, that's what will count”, said Marcos Braz.

Flamengodefeated Cuiabá 2-1 last Wednesday (20 ), in a match valid for 34th round of the Brazilian Championship. However, the clash in Mato Grosso had an important absence: Gabigol, who was removed by the red-black board. After the victory, the club's vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, broke the silence and clarified the situation involving the attacker.

“We don’t need to externalize or qualify the episode. What I can say is that we have been vice-president of football for six years and have always managed not only Gabriel's situations, but other players' situations as well. We always used the same metrics. When we thought the club should take a stand, we arrived and always did it in a punctual manner. I informed Filipe Luís. Of course we always have a good conversation, I have an excellent relationship with him. But, to make it clear, Filipe Luís was notified”, said the director, before completing:

“What does < the href="https://www.flamengo.com.br/" target="_blank">Flamengo did nothing to do with what he said. Now, I'll make it clear, what happened inside the locker room will stay in the locker room, but I witnessed one or two events. We understood that there would need to be an adjustment, and this was done with Gabriel leaving the games against Atlético-MG and Cuiabá”, explained Braz, in an interview with GE.

Gabigol was left out of Flamengo's last two games, against Atlético-MG and Cuiabá. Despite this, Marcos Braz confirmed that the number 99 will return to the squad in the clash against Fortaleza, in the next round.

“He will returnnormally from the next game, against Fortaleza, and he will fulfill his contract until the end as he has done until now with great tranquility, and so will Flamengo”, concluded Marcos Braz.

End of an era at Flamengo

After winning the Copa do Brasil, Gabigol announced that he would leavethe Flamengo at the end of his contract, in December this year. The striker's fate may already be defined: Cruzeiro would have an agreement with Mengão's number 99, despite Santos's interest in signing him.

< p style="border: 1px solid rgb(197, 0, 24);">Flamengo's president, Rodolfo Landim, even considered the possibility of trying to renew with Gabigol, responding to the fans' requests. However, the striker maintained his decision and declared that he will not accept new proposals from the club, even if they include long-term contracts. Gabigol highlighted that his objective is to honor the agreement signed with Cruzeiro.

Next steps

With Gabigol's return confirmed for the next match, Flamengo now focuses its attention on the clash against Fortaleza. The duel will be held on Tuesday (26), at 8 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Castelão, for the 35th round of the Brasileirão.
