Before the match started, the Rubro-Negro lineup drew attention due to the high number of reserve players. However, the decision to save was authorized by Mais Querido's board.
According to information from journalist Venê Casagrande, Flamengo's board supported Tite to change the lineup. For Mais Querido's directors, the decision was not to prioritize the Copa do Brasil, but to avoid physical wear and tear on the players. .
