Currently 90 years old, the red-black and Brazilian football legend thanked the gesture offered by the Superintendency of Sports of the State of Rio de Janeiro (SUDERJ) on social media.
“Age asked that it be in home and with simplicity. Moved, I thank the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, the Secretaries of the Civil House and Sports and Leisure and SUDERJ, in the person of its president Renato de Paula, for the tribute. I don't know if I did much, but I know I did my best for football”, said Evaristo de Macedo on X, formerly Twitter, this Wednesday (03).

In a law approved this Thursday (17), Mais Querido officially became a historical and cultural heritage site of the "Marvelous City"

Despite the defeat to Santos this past Wednesday (16), the Nação Rubro-Negra can celebrate this Thursday (17), as Flamengo has officially become a historical, cultural and intangible heritage of Rio de Janeiro.
"This title is, therefore, recognition for everything the club has provided to the population. It is an honor for Rio de Janeiro to host a club like Flamengo," declared Governor Cláudio Castro. Bill 2.468/23 was created by Representative Verônica Lima and was approved by the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly (Alerj) on June 24.
Intangible heritage refers to the set of practices, expressions, knowledge, and traditions that a group or community recognizes as part of its cultural identity. Furthermore, these "assets" are passed down from generation to generation. Capoeira, Frevo, and Samba de Roda are some examples.
The Flamengo Regatas Group was officially founded on November 15, 1895. Since then, the Most Beloved has become one of the largest multi-sport clubs in South America. Furthermore, the Rubro-Negro boasts the largest fan base in world football and has won numerous titles over the years.
Now, Mais Querido focuses its attention on the next commitments of the season. Flamengo returns to the field on Sunday (20), at 7:30 pm, in a classic against Fluminense , at Maracanã. The match will be valid for the 15th round of the Brasileirão.
The Mais Querido channel has joined the channels of the biggest European clubs and is comfortably leading the Brazilian rankings, with three times the number of subscribers of the second-placed club.

While the board is focused on the market , Flamengo's communications and marketing department continues to thrive. Flamengo TV surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first club channel outside Europe to achieve this.
According to data released by the platform itself, Flamengo 's prominence in the Brazilian and global digital landscape is reinforced. Thus, the Mais Querido channel joins major European clubs and role models for club channels , such as Barcelona, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and PSG, in the select group with over 1 billion views.
The milestone also comes amid changes implemented by President Luiz Eduardo Baptista's administration. The rebranding officially formalized the name "Flamengo TV" and brought in journalists João Guilherme and Daniela Boaventura. The commentator recorded a video to celebrate the milestone and posted a message thanking the fans.
" This is an achievement worthy of Flamengo and its fans, the largest in the world. We continue to do our work with great pride on Flamengo TV, our most beloved. Thank you, Nação Rubro-Negra," he said.
Besides joining the European giants, Flamengo also opened up a wide lead over other Brazilian clubs. The Mais Querido has over 7.4 million subscribers, almost triple the number of second-place Corinthians (2.5 million), while Palmeiras comes in third with 2.3 million.
