The dream of its own stadium has once again become the topic of the moment after the recent news that Flamengo had meetings scheduled with Caixa and had already presented the initial idea for purchase of the Gasologista land. But what will happen to Maracanã, and Mauro Cezar Pereira, the MCP, is practical when talking about the topic.

In Jovem Pan, the commentator thinks that Maracanã is a steal for Flamengo and explains why. He mentions that the stadium is not a cauldron, as it is terrible for the fans to dissipate and the fans are also away from the field.

“Maracanã is a steal. A hell of a robbery. In addition to all the state issues, the acoustics are bad, the fans are far away. It's a stadium built by FIFA for the World Cup. It’s not a stadium with a football stadium concept that you create today thinking about having an atmosphere, making that environment favorable for your team and difficult for the opponent”, he says.

In addition to the unfavorable issue for fans, Mauro Cezar remembers that the concession notice obliges concession clubs to favor politicians with tickets and even food. “In the notice, you have to provide so many boxes for the state government, and they are numbered, so many chairs, so many parking spaces and in the box you have to serve canapés, snacks and perks. That's a joke. It's so shameful that this is in the notice. The guys want, above all, a benefit and the club has to pay to play there. So you have to get rid of this Maracanã thing”, he says.

In the sequence, Mauro Cezar appears nostalgic when remembering the renovation and stating that the current stadium is no longer Maracanã. “Because that shit isn’t even Maracanã. Maracanã, they've already demolished it, they've done away with it, they built a stadium there in Ukraine, from that World Cup. It's the same. That's not Maracanã. Maracanã was something else, another concept, another stadium. That was a temple. A stadium that welcomed people from all social classes. This Maracanã is a stadium made for FIFA, for the World Cup”, he concludes.
