In the Atlas Intel survey, fans of Flamengo were able to vote in several different categories. From best player to best coach, the Flamengo fans also chose what the red-black team's priorities should be in the hiring market. The priority does not come as a surprise. The right back is seen as the club's most needy sector.
Fans had the right to choose three positions as a priority for Mais Querido. The right side received 74.2% of the votes. A midfielder is the second biggest need for the red and blacks (37%) and the third biggest was a midfielder (25.8%). It is worth mentioning that due to the possibility of talking about more than one function, the percentage exceeds 100%. The right winger (21.1%) and the left winger (16.2%) complete the top-5.
If the right winger is an old problem, the Flamengo fans seem to be very satisfied with Agustín Rossi . Goalkeeper was the least voted option as a priority, just 5.6%. A technical draw with the left wing (5.9%), and with command of the attack. Only 9.9% chose the center forward as a necessity for Flamengo.
The survey included 2,015 respondents. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points. The reliability rate is 95%. The information collection period was between August 1st and 5th, 2024.
Flamengo should go to the market to sign a right-back if Wesley leaves for Atalanta, in Italy. Red-blacks and Italians are already starting to exchange documentation to finalize the deal. The Rio club's board contacted Arthur, the Brazilian full-back from Bayer Leverkusen who was German champion last season, but heard that the player has no interest in returning to Brazil at the moment.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

One of Flamengo's main players in 2024, Gerson has been fundamental under Tite's command. Last Sunday (15), in a 1-1 draw with Vasco, the midfielder scored Rubro-Negro's goal and stood out once again. This year, Gerson leads the list of Serie A athletes with the most minutes on the field since returning from surgery at the beginning of the season.
In March 2024, Gerson underwent kidney surgery due to hydronephrosis, a problem kidney that kept him away from Flamengo for around a month and a half. Since his return, the athlete has participated in all 37 Flamengo matches, in addition to two more for the Brazilian National Team.

Of Flamengo's 37 games since the medical problem, Gerson started 32. The midfielder was a substitute in the first three matches of the Brasileirão, while he regained his rhythm after surgery, and was also on the bench in the duel against Botafogo, after playing 90 minutes against Bolívar (BOL) at altitude, in the group stage of the Libertadores.
After that, Gerson started 21 consecutive matches as a starter. He returned to the bench only in the game against São Paulo, in the second round of the Brasileirão return, when Tite opted for an alternative team. Gerson entered the final part of that match.
Next AppointmentWith Gerson available, Flamengo is preparing for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Fla will face Peñarol (URU) this Thursday (19), at 7pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The return game is scheduled for September 26th, at the same time, at the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, in Montevideo.
