The week of Flamengo It started quite agitatedly, especially in relation to the club's progress towards having its own stadium. This Monday (29), the Federal Court denied the injunction issued by Caixa Econômica Federal that sought the cancellation of the auction of the Gasometer land, located in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Caixa Econômica Federal is the owner of the Gasometer land and, in this way, the federal institution tried to prevent the auction from taking place. Without being successful, the 'event' remains scheduled to take place this Wednesday (31).

Flamengo, in fact, appears as one of the favorites to purchase the site to build its own long-awaited stadium .

The auction is scheduled for 2:30 pm (Brasília time), in the building's auditorium of Rio de Janeiro City Hall, in Cidade Nova. The minimum bid to acquire the Gasometer land is R$138 million. In this dispute, Flamengo will have an advantage, as whoever wins the site will be obliged to build a sports arena. VOTING IN THE DELIBERATIVE COUNCIL

Before the auction, Flamengo will have a historic night in Gávea. This Monday (29), the club's advisors will meet to approve or not the purchase of the Gasometer land. If the majority says 'yes', Rubro-Negro will have the go-ahead to go to the auction. It is important to emphasize that Mengo does not have a stipulated investment ceiling to purchase the space. In other words, it will pursue the acquisition of the space until the end.

FLAMENGO ESTÁDIO

The Flamengo stadium project is already ready, whether indoors or off the field. At the location, the club plans to create an infrastructure that encompasses both those who go to watch the games and those who go for tourism. The arena will have capacity for over 80 thousand people, and captive seats will be sold to red and black fans.

New information has emerged about the legal impasse involving Caixa Econômica Federal and the Gasologista land, located in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro, where Flamengo's future stadium is planned. The state bank demands compensation of R$1.08 billion to free up the area for the club.
DEMANDS FROM CAIXA ECONÔMICA FEDERAL

According to the website Exame, Caixa is charging R$240 million for land ownership and R$840 million for air rights for the work, which would allow for an expansion of the construction potential of the stadium project. Only with the payment of this amount would the bank be willing to provide the site for construction.

In 2024, the City of Rio de Janeiro, led by Mayor Eduardo Paes, expropriated the Gasometer land. Mais Querido then acquired the area at an auction for R$146 million. However, Caixa Econômica challenged the transaction in court, triggering a long legal battle that has not yet been resolved.

ONGOING NEGOTIATIONS

To try to resolve the conflict, Flamengo, City Hall and Caixa are looking for an agreement that could put an end to the legal disputes. A deadline of mid-November this year was set for the parties to reach a consensus and make progress on the stadium project possible.
