The Flamengomay suffer from significant absences between the 7th and 15th of October due to FIFA Data, which coincides with an important period of competitions in Brazilian and South American football. During this international window, several players who play for the Rio club are tipped to be called up by their respective national teams, which can have a direct impact on the lineup and the team's performance on the field.

The Brazilian team, Under the command of coach Fernando Diniz, up to four Flamengo athletes can be called up. One of the strongest names is Gerson. The midfielder has stood out for his versatility and quality in constructing plays, being a fundamental player for both the club and the national team. He has already been called up previously and has a great chance of being on the list for October's commitments, especially due to his ability to play in different positions in midfield, adding offensively and defensively.

FLAMENGO CAN SUFFERING WITH PROBLEMS

Another possible call-up is Fabrício Bruno, a defender who has shown security in Flamengo's defense and gained more and more prominence. Consistency in recent matches could guarantee him a place on Diniz's list, especially considering the team's search for options to reinforce the defensive sector. His height and good presence in aerial balls are qualities that can be seen as essential.

In addition to him, Léo Ortiz also emerges as an option for the defense of the Brazilian team. Recently hired, the player quickly established himself in the starting lineup of Flamengo, showing good reading of the game and defensive solidity. His call-up will depend on the selection coach's assessment of the need for new alternatives for the defensive sector.

Finally, Ayrton Lucas, left-back, is another athlete with a great chance of being called up. His consistent performance, both in defense and in support of the attack, has attracted attention. He has become an important piece in Flamengo's tactical scheme and could be an interesting option for the Brazilian team, especially given the scarcity of prominent players in the position.

However, in 180 minutes of confrontation with the Uruguayans, there was no ball in the net and the Montevideo team classified with an aggregate score of 1-0. Paparazzo: “Yeah, thanks. The goal came, right? Thanks, Tite. You were right.”

What's the promise?

At Maracanã, Peñarol won 1-0, with Flamengo having more chances created in the departure. In a press conference on September 19, the coach assured that he would not waste so many opportunities in the second leg, held this Thursday (26), at the Campeón del Siglo Stadium.

“There will be a goal (in the return game), they can charge me. Flamengo will create half of what they created today and will score goals there. Cover me later“, said Tite, after the first leg. However, the reality was different, and Flamengo barely created any opportunities, even with more than 70% of the ball.

In a match played on Thursday night (26), Flamengo drew 0-0 with Peñarol at the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, in Uruguay, for the return of the Libertadores quarter-finals. The result ended Rubro-Negro's participation in the continental tournament, leaving the club out of the title race. With the elimination, the team now turns its attention to national competitions, including the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil.
TITE EXPLAINS DECISION ON GABIGOL

After the draw, coach Tite talked about the choice not to start the match with Gabigol among the starters. The attacker, who came on in the second half, only had one clear shot, but had little influence on the game, something that has been recurring since the coach took charge.

"Any observation made now may seem simple. If we don't put Gabi in, it's because we don't put him in. If we put him in, it's because we put him in. After the game, everything is easy to criticize. We wanted a player in the area, and this was reflected in an important chance. Unfortunately, we were unable to convert it into a goal", declared Tite.

NEXT CHALLENGES IN THE BRASILEIRÃO AND BRAZILIAN CUP< With the result, the Mengão says goodbye to the Libertadores and directs his focus to national disputes. The team's next commitment will be for the Brazilian Championship, when they will face Athletico-PR on Sunday (29), at 8 pm, at Maracanã, for the 28th round of the competition. Furthermore, the club remains alive in the Copa do Brasil, with the mission of seeking titles in 2024.

Brazil ended its participation in the Paris Paralympics this Sunday (8) with its best campaign in the history of the competition. According to the objective established by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, the Brazilian delegation in Paris broke the record for medals in a single edition of the Games, with 89, achieved the highest number of golds, 25, and secured the unprecedented top 5 in the medals table.

It was not easy to secure fifth place. After spending the first few days among the five best countries at the Paralympics, Brazil came to occupy eighth place in the medals quarter at the end of Thursday (5), four days before the end of the Games. But from Friday (6) recovery came. With four gold medals won, Brazil reached seventh place and came up against France and Italy, which would become the great opponent for fifth place.

Medal after medal, Brazil and Italy fought for the top 5 in the table of medals. On Saturday (7), Brazilian athletes secured the country's best day in the history of the Paralympics with six golds, three silvers and seven bronzes, and sixth place in the classification. With such a performance, Brazil surpassed the 72 podiums and 22 gold medals from Tokyo 2022, achieving its best campaign in both categories.

However, it still lacked a position in the top five. The Italians had 24 gold medals, one more gold medal than Brazil, and slept in fifth place. That would change this Sunday morning (8).

In the first events of the last day of the race, Brazil won two more gold medals and overtook Italy. First, Fernando Rufino was champion in canoeing, winning gold in the 200m VL2 and leaving the countries tied. The race also had another Brazilian on the podium. Igor Tofalini finished in second place and took silver. Then, in the event that would bring the top 5 to Brazil, Tayana Medeiros broke the Paralympic record by lifting 156kg in the 86kg category and took gold.

Italy did not win any competition and no longer competes in competitions. Thus, Brazil guaranteed its best campaign in the history of the Paralympics. The great Brazilian highlights, as usual, were athletics, which reached its 200th medals won, and swimming, with 36 for the first and 26 for the second discipline.
