Julliana Granda and Adria are called up to represent Brazil in the Junior Pan-American Games, in August, in Paraguay

Sesc Flamengo continues to be a protagonist on and off the court. This time, with a confirmed presence in one of the most important youth teams of the Olympic cycle. The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) announced this Monday (19) the call-up of the Brazilian under-23 women's team that is preparing for the Junior Pan-American Games, and Rubro-Negro will have two representatives: the middle blockers Julliana Granda and Adria.
The players will report to the Enel Volleyball Development Center in Saquarema on June 2, where training for the continental competition will begin. The Junior Pan American Games will be held from August 9 to 23 in Asunción, Paraguay, and will serve as a qualifier for the adult Pan American Games in Lima 2027.
Among the names called up by Marcos Miranda, coach of the under-23 team, Juju arrives with high hopes. At 21 years old, the 1.92m tall center was one of the standout players for Sesc Flamengo in the last edition of the Superliga, being an important part of the blocking system. Her good performance earned her a call-up and also paves the way for a contract renewal with the club, which is already underway.
Even with little experience in national teams, Juju is considered a promising name of the new generation. Her debut as a starter in an entire season increased her confidence and put the athlete's name on the radar of the CBV technical committee. Younger, at 20 years old, Adria had fewer minutes on the court than her teammate Juju, but she did not go unnoticed.
The middle blocker stood out when she was called upon, especially in the victory against Abel Moda, in which she was voted best on the court. Her ability to read the game and consistency in her serve made her a valuable option in the squad. Behind the scenes, the call-up is seen as a bet on the athlete's development for future cycles. Sesc Flamengo , in fact, has plans to give Adria more space next season, observing her technical evolution.
