Gabigol used social media on Thursday night to thank fans for their messages and regret the postponement of his hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Punished for attempted fraud in an anti-doping test, the Flamengo striker has been playing due to a suspension effect and had the trial scheduled for this Friday. He even traveled to Lausanne, Switzerland, to participate in the process in person.

 “Hi, Nation! I'm here in Europe and I want to thank everyone for the messages of affection and support. The hearing has been postponed, wow The trip ended up being in vain, but I'm still at the disposal of justice! I wish I could have resolved this now, I lost days of training and costs, but I'm sure this matter will soon be over for good. Tomorrow I'll be back and 100% ready for the next challenges. !” - he wrote.


Attendance at the trial is not mandatory, but Gabigol decided to travel with his lawyer, Bichara Neto, with the aim of proving his innocence. With the postponement, the attacker went to Paris, where he posted a photo on social media near the Arc de Triomphe, and will return to Rio de Janeiro on Friday night.


He will appear again at Ninho do Urubu during training camp. Saturday and will be Tite's option for the game against Grêmio next Thursday, at 8pm (Brasília time) at Maracanã, for the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship. The number 99 scored again last Sunday, in the 6-1 victory over Vasco.

On Saturday night (28), FIFA will announce the host cities for the 2025 Club World Cup. The event will take place in Central Park, in New York, at 6:45 pm. The competition is scheduled to take place between June and July next year and Flamengo is confirmed among the 32 participating teams.
