The arrival of Ricardo Perlingeiro at Flamengo brought noticeable improvements to the professional team's scouting department. Perlingeiro's hiring took place after the departure of Renan Bloise, who left the club to take up a position at Corinthians. Perlingeiro, who previously served as coordinator of the Brazilian youth team, was seen as a strategic addition to Flamengo, aiming to improve the analysis and identification of talent.

Since its arrival, the positive impact is evident. Players like Carlos Alcaraz and Gonzalo Plata, who recently arrived at the club, are clear examples of a more judicious approach focused on young athletes with great resale potential. These athletes were chosen not only for their technical capabilities, but also for the financial return they can generate in future negotiations, aligning with the club's investment strategy.

FLAMENGO HAS A NEW DIRECTION AND INTERACTION

Carlos Alcaraz, a midfielder with experience at Racing Club, was acquired with the expectation of not only contributing on the field, but also quickly gaining value in the European market. His youth and skill place him as a key player in Flamengo's project to remain competitive while generating revenue through the sale of players. Likewise, Gonzalo Plata, an Ecuadorian striker who played for Real Valladolid, is another example of this policy. With the potential to evolve significantly, Plata was identified as a player who could stand out at Flamengo and, eventually, be sold for a higher value than invested, generating profit for the club.

The choice of Ricardo Perlingeiro to commanding the scout of Flamengo reflects the The club's need to adapt to the current market, where early identification of talent can mean the difference between financial success and failure. Perlingeiro's experience with the Brazilian youth team gave him the ability to recognize young promises and understand the development necessary for these players to reach their maximum potential.

Flamengo faces the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América this Thursday. The opponent will be Peñarol from Uruguay and the match will take place at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time). However, the directors participated in a dinner last night (Wednesday).

Directors from Flamengo and Peñarol met at the traditional dinner on the eve of clashes in the Conmebol Libertadores. Rubro-Negro was represented at the meeting by the vice-president of the Presidency's Office and Member of the Football Council, Diogo Lemos, by the vice-president of External Relations, Gony Arruda, and by the executive director of football, Bruno Spindel.

FLAMENGO WILL HAVE ARRASCAETA AND DE LA CRUZ

In the match against Peñarol, Rubro-Negro will have the return of Arrascaeta in the starting lineup. Fla's number 14 started on the bench against Vasco, but replaced Luiz Araújo, who was injured. Meanwhile, De La Cruz also returns to the starting 11 after recovering from injury. Finally, Gonzalo Plata and Alex Sandro had good performances against Vasco and should be kept for the match.

PEÑAROL ENDS PREPARATION

Just like Flamengo , the Peñarol (URU) squad also finished its preparation this Wednesday (18), focusing on the Libertadores clash. The Uruguayans used Botafogo's CT for the last training session before the game at Maracanã. It is worth noting that Peñarol’s training was “closed doors”. In other words, the press was unable to follow the activities carried out by coach Diego Aguirre.
