One of the main games from last Wednesday (1), Flamengo x Amazonas, was not broadcast on open TV . The absence of the game on Globo caused searches for the match to be broadcast on the internet. The reason the broadcaster did not show the Rubro-Negro match is related to the rights to broadcast the Copa do Brasil.

Globo holds the rights to broadcast the Copa do Brasil on open TV. However, in 2023, the broadcaster signed a new contract to show tournament games only from the round of 16 onwards. During Flamengo x Amazonas, the channel was showing the soap opera “Renascer”.

As matches in the stages prior to the round of 16 were divided between Globo's closed channels, "SporTV" and "Premiere", and Amazon's streaming, "Prime Video". Globo and Amazon are partners in negotiating the broadcasting rights for the competition until 2026.

According to columnist Allan Simon, from "UOL", this distribution of games boosts the number of users on the company's subscription channels Globo and on the Amazon streaming platform. The third phase return games are scheduled to take place from the 21st of this month.

VITÓRIA MAGRA DO FLAMENGO

The team led by Tite was booed at Maracanã despite the victory . This is because the club did not excite the fans who were present at the stadium with just a 1-0 victory over Amazonas in the second division.

Flamengo beat São Paulo this past Saturday (12), in a match valid for the 13th round of the Brasileirão. The match also marked Jorginho's debut against the Nação Rubro-Negra and at Maracanã. Thus, after the game, the Mais Querido midfielder revealed that he was moved by the fans' celebration.

Jorginho talks about Flamengo fans: "It was something very special to be able to feel the energy, the passion of these fans, of the Nation."

He continued: "Something incredible, very emotional for me, for my family, for my friends who are here as well. So, it was something very special to be able to walk in with one of my sons today, " he said, before concluding:

"Lessons are that we have to continue working the way we have been doing, working hard and continuing to run hard, pushing and believing in what we have been doing because we have demonstrated once again that we have a very competitive group . So, we must continue on this path," concluded Jorginho, during an interview in the mixed zone.

JORGINHO'S ARRIVAL AT FLAMENGO

Flamengo announced Jorginho's signing in June of this year, focusing on the Club World Cup. The midfielder trained at Ninho do Urubu and then traveled with the rest of the delegation to the United States. As a result, the player participated in all of Flamengo's matches in the tournament.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME

With Jorginho available, coach Filipe Luís begins preparing the team for the match against Santos. The match, part of the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship, will take place at 8 pm at Vila Belmiro. Santos will be looking to maintain its lead.

Amid controversy, Flamengo releases a statement and reinforces: “There is no need to sell players”

Flamengo 's statement came as an institutional response to recent internal turmoil, especially that involving Pedro . Behind the scenes, the club understands it needs to take a stance to protect the squad and maintain focus on the season . The statement reinforces that any departure will only occur upon proposals that align with the club's sporting, financial, and strategic interests.

PROBLEMS TO FOLLOW

Although the statement doesn't name names, it's impossible to separate its content from the crisis surrounding Pedro. The striker sat out the match against São Paulo, was publicly criticized by Filipe Luís, who accused him of disrespect in training, and his departure was openly discussed by his staff. Representatives of the number 9 assured the press that they will work to present an offer to Flamengo. The club's institutional response is clear: it will not accept external pressure to release players.

FLAMENG SHOULD NOT RELEASE EASY

Behind the scenes, the relationship between Pedro and part of the coaching staff is strained. Despite the discomfort, Filipe Luís stated that he wants the striker to stay, as long as he changes his day-to-day approach. The board, however, understands that the current situation requires stability and a consistent approach, especially with the club involved in multiple sporting fronts this season.

Leaked conversations suggest that Flamengo would be willing to negotiate Pedro for around €15 million (approximately R$97.5 million). This amount, however, is viewed with caution by interested clubs, mainly due to contractual issues and the striker's recent performance. Even so, the club's tone is clear: it will only let go if it has a favorable offer. Pressure from agents or a negative atmosphere in the club's environment isn't enough. See the official statement:

Flamengo clarifies that it only considers negotiations that align with its sporting, strategic, and financial interests, in addition to taking into account the wishes of its players. The club further emphasizes that, at this time, it has no interest, nor need, to sell players from the squad. Any move in this direction will only occur upon the payment required by the club, and not due to pressure from agents and intermediaries. Irresponsibly spread speculation, often fueled by third parties, only misinforms the press, confuses fans, and generates unnecessary noise in the football environment. Flamengo remains focused on its objectives for the season, with a valued, competitive squad committed to the pursuit of titles.

Pedro isn't the only name under discussion. Young Matheus Gonçalves has received an offer from Cruzeiro, while Wesley is negotiating with Roma. The board sees these negotiations as natural, but repeats the mantra: he'll only leave if there's a significant technical or financial return . These situations are handled on a case-by-case basis, and the club strives to maintain a healthy internal environment, avoiding external noise that could detract from its focus on the championships at hand.

Flamengo won three more important points in the Brazilian Championship by beating São Paulo 2-0, this Saturday (12) , at Maracanã. Commanded by Filipe Luís, the red-black team reached 27 points and remains at the top of the national competition, even with one game less than direct rivals.

The solid performance in front of over 60,000 fans at Maracanã reinforces the club's strong season. The result maintains the confidence of the squad, which has shown consistency and balance in recent rounds.

FILIPE LUÍS REVEALS WHO THE NEW CAPTAINS ARE

After the final whistle, Filipe Luís took advantage of the press conference to discuss internal leadership within the red-and-black squad. The coach explained the logic behind choosing the team's captains, citing criteria such as seniority and behind-the-scenes behavior.

"I believe in seniority. Bruno Henrique , Arrasca, Alex, who was the captain I chose at the beginning of this year, and now Léo Pereira is the fourth captain, also due to his time at the club. As I told the players, he's one of the longest-serving members of this group, who's been through it all, has the experience of being booed, being criticized, turning things around, and having won every title except the World Cup," the coach said.

Filipe Luís talks about Flamengo's captains: "We are well represented"

Furthermore, Filipe highlighted the presence of leaders without the official armband. " And because I'm an active leader within this group today. So today we're well represented, in addition to having captains without armbands, like Danilo, Léo Ortiz, and even Jorginho. I'm a big believer in positive leadership," he added.

RUBRO-NEGRO'S NEXT CHALLENGE

With the victory over São Paulo, Flamengo turns its focus to its next match of the season. The team will face Santos away from home, aiming to maintain its winning streak and extend its lead at the top of the table.
