This last Wednesday (31), the Flamengo won the auction for land in Gasologista for the construction of its new stadium. In addition, Mais Querido is also negotiating the purchase of 56% of SAD from Leixões, from Portugal. After the result of the event, president Rodolfo Landim said that he sees Mais Querido as the future formation of his own multi-club group, like John Textor's Eagle and the City Group.

"Capitalized European groups start with big European teams and go out and buy stakes in several clubs around the world. Flamengo is so big that the challenge we make is: why not Flamengo be the mother club of a series of other clubs around the world, forming its transnational group? Small is the same work as thinking big. If others could, why can't we? That's the message I leave", stated the red-black president.

COMPRA DO LEIXÕES

It is worth remembering that Mais Querido is currently negotiating the purchase of 56% of the shares of Leixões, from Portugal. In other words, the Rubro-Negro would be the majority shareholder and would have decision-making power.  Thus, Rubro-Negro will be able to decide on the teams: main, team B (young people up to 21 years old) and also the under-23s.

The youth categories, women's football and nine other sports remain under the responsibility of Leixões. Even with advanced negotiations, as the president of Mais Querido assured in a recent interview, the process still needs to be voted on by the Deliberative Council of Flamengo.

REASON FOR INVESTMENT

The Most Dear wishes having a Portuguese club to increase revenue by receiving in euros, a currency more valued than the real. Furthermore, the team wants to open more doors to the European market and create a showcase for young people transitioning from grassroots to professional. According to Rodolfo Landim, players who play in Europe are 20% more expensive than those from South America.
