The beginning of this Sunday night was not good for the red and black fans. This is because Flamengo lost to Botafogo 4-1, in another very bad game for the team. Shortly after the final whistle, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi gave an interview on the edge of the field and cited fatigue as Rubro-Negro's biggest problem in the classic.

"A it's true that I had the opportunity to take the penalty. I think they had an extra day of rest, they played on Wednesday and we played on Thursday. We didn't even make it 72 hours before last game and I think that in the second half we suffered because we were more tired than them. We have to look ahead. We have one game less, we can still recover the points lost today", said the archer. p>

The goalkeeper also mentioned the decisive match against Bolívar, on Thursday (22), in the Libertadores. He asks that the result against Botafogo does not affect the team's performance in the important clash for the international tournament.

“There is a final on Thursday, in Bolivia, and we need to always be thinking positive. We know that it represents Flamengo, the biggest club in Brazil. Today was a classic and on Thursday it's a final. It's going to be a tough game, we have to keep improving and always move forward. This club demands that.”

With the result in the classic, Flamengo remains with 41 points, five less than the leader Botafogo, with 46. Rubro-negro now needs to turn the key to the Libertadores of America. This is because there is a decisive game at altitude against Bolívar, for a place in the quarter-finals.

In the first match, Tite's men won at Maracanã 2-0 and have the advantage of losing by up to a goal difference to pass. For the Brasileirão, Fla will only return to the field next Sunday, at 4pm, against Bragantino, at Maracanã.

Flamengo suffered a painful defeat last Sunday (18), beating Botafogo 4-1 at Engenhão. It was the first time in 20 years that Flamengo conceded four goals from their rival, a result that left the red and black fans very worried. This defeat further intensifies criticism of the team's defense and management, which has faced a series of challenges this season.

According to the profile Curiosities Brazil at X, Botafogo had not scored four goals against Flamengo since the 4-2 victory in the 2002 Rio-São Paulo Tournament. The last time Botafogo achieved a rout like this was in 1972, when they beat Flamengo 6-0. This history highlights the weight of Sunday's defeat and the urgent need for adjustments in the red and black team.

A The match at Engenhão was marked by Flamengo's vulnerable defense, which was unable to contain Botafogo's attack, which earned coach Tite a lot of criticism. The coach praised the black and white player's performance at Engenhão, but declared that Mais Querido cannot suffer four goals from no opponent.

“Congratulate Botafogo for the great game they played, they kept the level was very regular in the first and second half, always at a high level. Football has to know how to look at the other side and recognize it, even with all the pain of defeat. Flamengo cannot lose 4-1, cannot concede four goals, we are aware of that. But at the same time, consider important factors”, said the coach

Now, Flamengo needs to turn the key and focus on the next decisive match. On Thursday (22), the team faces Bolívar in La Paz, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Flamengo can lose by up to a goal difference and still qualify for the next phase, but the team will need to show significant improvement to guarantee their place.
