According to information released by journalist Jorge Nicola, the Rio de Janeiro club is the only one in the country with more than ten athletes receiving salaries above R$1 million per month. This number highlights the weight of the financial structure set up by Rubro-Negro to maintain a competitive squad on all fronts. In the list published on Nicola's blog on the R7 portal, forwards Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro appear tied at the top of the salary ranking.
Both earn around R$1.8 million per month, an amount that includes fixed salaries, bonuses and image rights. They are currently the highest-paid players in the red-and-black squad. Five other names appear right behind them in the survey, with salaries of around R$1.5 million per month: Uruguayan Arrascaeta, the recently signed Danilo, De La Cruz, Michael and midfielder Gerson , whose contract renewal was made official this week.
The club's board of directors agreed to extend Gerson's contract until the end of 2030. The new agreement provides for a 50% salary increase compared to the previous salary, valid until 2027. The increase is part of the club's policy of protecting its main assets amidst the pressure from foreign clubs. With so many high-level players who are highly valued on the market, maintaining competitiveness is expensive . The more than R$40 million per month that Mengão invests in the football department includes not only the players' salaries, but also the salaries of the coaching staff led by Filipe Luís.
The high-cost structure is only possible thanks to the billion-dollar revenue that the club has maintained since 2021. According to Jorge Nicola, the projection for 2025 is a record revenue: R$1.5 billion . The amount exceeds the result of 2023, which was R$1.37 billion — the highest ever recorded in Brazilian football. The board understands that investing heavily in the squad is a way to guarantee sporting results and financial returns, through awards, box office, marketing and sale of broadcast rights. With a group full of decisive players, the club tries to maintain hegemony on and off the pitch.
Current tournament champion, Mengão faces the Catalan team this Saturday (23) and could break attendance records in the international final

Flamengo is preparing for another international final in the youth categories. The current champion of the U-20 Intercontinental Cup , the team faces Barcelona (ESP) this Saturday (23), at 4:30 pm, at Maracanã , in search of its second championship. The competition brings together the winners of the U-20 Copa Libertadores and the UEFA Youth League, the most important tournaments in the category in South America and Europe.
According to information released by journalist Venê Casagrande, as of Friday night, 35,473 tickets had already been sold for the match. The red-and-black fans are expected to sell out the entire ticket, even with the Upper South section still closed. Due to high demand, tickets for the Upper East section, previously blocked, have been released for sale.
Tickets for the East and Lower West sectors, as well as the North sector, are already sold out. Tickets remain for the Upper East sector, part of the South sector, and Maracanã Mais. Prices range from R$22.50 (half-price) to R$300 (full-price) , and sales are exclusive to the official website: ingressos.flamengo.com.br .
The match has a strong chance of breaking the tournament's all-time attendance record, held by the 2022 match between Peñarol (URU) and Benfica (POR), when 40,579 fans attended. The red-and-black fans are expected to surpass that mark on Saturday.
The final will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV Globo, starting at 4:30 p.m. (Brasília time) . Gustavo Villani will be the commentator, with Maestro Júnior and Paulo Nunes, both of whom have played for the Rio de Janeiro club's youth academy.

Flamengo recently rejected inquiries from three European clubs for defender Léo Pereira . According to the ge portal, Valencia, Sevilla, and Porto have expressed interest in the player , seeking information on the conditions for a potential deal.
Despite contact from representatives, the club's board made it clear that it has no intention of negotiating the player during this window . However, communication between the parties will remain open for future discussions.
Currently, the only way for Léo Pereira to leave the Rio de Janeiro club would be to pay the full release clause, set at 60 million euros (approximately R$380 million). A similar situation occurs with Léo Ortiz , who has also been targeted by European clubs.
Signed in 2020 to replace Pablo Marí, the defender arrived after the Spaniard's departure to Arsenal . At the time, Rubro-Negro paid around €7 million (approximately R$32 million) to Athletico-PR.
Since wearing the red-and-black jersey, Léo Pereira has made 251 appearances, scored 15 goals, and provided five assists. The defender has won a Copa Libertadores, a Campeonato Brasileiro , two Copa do Brasil titles, a Recopa Sudamericana, a Supercopa Rei, and four state titles.
Spanish defender, champion of the Libertadores and Brasileirão in 2019, has attracted interest from the Minas Gerais team, but is currently enjoying a good run of form in Italian football.

Pablo Marí, one of the key players in Flamengo's Libertadores and Brasileirão triumphs in 2019, may be in Atlético-MG's sights. According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, a transfer market specialist, the Minas Gerais club has expressed interest in signing the Spanish defender , currently a starter for Fiorentina.
"Two foreign clubs have shown interest in defender Pablo Marí ," Schira revealed on social media. " Atlético Mineiro is interested in defender Pablo Marí ," the reporter added.
After excelling at Flamengo , Pablo Marí was sold to Arsenal in England in 2020 for 14 million euros. The defender also spent time on loan at Udinese and Monza , before being acquired permanently by the Italian club in 2023.
Thanks to the maintenance of 40% of the economic rights at the time of the transfer, Flamengo made a profit of around R$14.6 million from the negotiation and still has to receive a portion of 680 thousand euros (approximately R$4.35 million), an amount that should be paid soon.
In early 2025 , Pablo Marí transferred to Fiorentina, responding to a request from coach Raffaele Palladino , who had previously worked with him at Monza. With a contract until June 2026, the defender is a key player in the Italian club's defense, making an immediate release difficult.
