ATLÉTICO-MG FAN IS CAUGHT MAKING RACIST GESTURES AGAINST FLAMENGO NATION

The victory was essential to keep Rubro-Negro at the top of the championship. However, the triumph lost some of its luster due to incidents of racism directed at Flamengo fans. The acts of discrimination occurred in the stadium's stands, causing outrage among those present.

Flamengo fans who were the target of racist insults denounced the athlete on social media. The episode happened during the second half, when Flamengo was already winning the match. The victory not only kept the team at the top, but also highlighted the importance of combating racism in football. The allegations gained great repercussion, putting pressure on the authorities and the club to take immediate measures.

Atlético-MG, in turn, reported that it is committed to identifying the perpetrator of racist insults. The Minas Gerais club expressed its intention to apply the appropriate punishments to the offending fan. The expectation is to ban the fan from the stadium and revoke their membership in the fan membership program. "The club's Legal department was contacted and is seeking identify the fan who appears in the images, to apply the punishments provided for in the rules for use of the MRV Arena and in the Regulations of the Galo Na Veia fan membership program", informed the club, through its advisors. The action seeks to reinforce Atlético-MG's commitment to the fight against racism and maintaining a safe environment for all fans.

Flamengo fans celebrated intensely the 4-2 victory over Atlético-MG. With the triumph, Rubro-Negro reached 30 points, opening a three-point lead over Botafogo, current runner-up in the Brazilian Championship.
