The Libra clubs recently signed an agreement for broadcasting rights, with Flamengo included, the teams signed with Globo, for the seasons from 2025 to 2029. In a text published for journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira's column , on 'UOL Esporte', former director of Rubro-Negro commented on the subject of the league.
Wallim, former vice-president of finance at Flamengo, commented on the new Brazilian football league and the benefits for the clubs, in the event of an agreement between teams. In this sense, he revealed in conversation with a president of a brazilian team, that the teams are far from reaching an agreement for a new Brazilian football league. Wallim made it clear that having a united league in Brazilian football is much more important than just negotiating broadcasting rights.
Check out what Wallim Vasconcellos said:
“Last week, talking With a president of a Serie A club, I asked how negotiations were going about broadcasting rights and he confirmed to me that they were very far from an agreement. The benefits of creating the League are obvious and it will provide a relevant increase in the flow of resources to the clubs.”
-List of gains that clubs could have with a united league according to Wallim
-Organization and governance of the League, with management handed over to professionals of recognized competence and reputation;
-Definition of financial Fair-Play mechanisms;
-Definition of safety and comfort standards in stadiums;
-Definition of pitch conditions;
-Professionalization of arbitration;
-Definition of body structure for disciplinary matters;
p>-Definition of the calendar, among others.
“Brazilian football, even in current conditions, has enormous value and attractiveness; A well-organized championship increases the quality of the games, attracts more audiences and sponsors, making it possible to invest in better athletes and retain players for longer, valuing the product more. It’s called the virtuous circle.” The former director continued.
“Therefore, a possible sale of part of the League's capital should only happen after it is consolidated, generating greater value for the clubs.”
It is worth remembering , that recently, the president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, spoke about the agreement with 'TV Globo' for broadcasting rights and says that he wants the clubs to have a union, so that the league can happen soon.

Flamengo officially resumed training this Saturday (05), after a short break granted to the squad. The return was marked by a two-period training session at CT Ninho do Urubu, with physical exercises and work on the field. Under the command of assistant coach Filipe Luís, who takes over the activities temporarily during the FIFA Date , the group began preparing for the next phase of the Brazilian Championship and other competitions in the second half of the year.
The players arrived in the morning and began their activities at the club's gym, focusing on physical conditioning. The group then went to the field and participated in technical activities, focusing on movement and team harmony. The coaching staff also took advantage of the day for individual observations and conversations with players who may gain space in the coming weeks.
The main absence at the reappearance was Gerson n . The midfielder had his contract termination published in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID) and is no longer part of the red-black squad. Despite the expectation that he would be able to appear at the CT to say goodbye to his teammates, the player did not show up at Ninho do Urubu this Saturday. Gerson is on his way to Zenit, in Russia, a club with which he has already signed a contract.
Unlike the midfielder, Pedro was present at the training center and trained normally with the squad. During the week, rumors circulated about Flamengo's interest in negotiating with the striker, but internally the player remains focused on training and at the disposal of the coaching staff. Vinição, a Mengo product, stands out after being announced as a reinforcement for the German team; the Rio de Janeiro club will make a huge profit from the deal

Midfielder Vinícius Souza was transferred from Sheffield United to Wolfsburg for 15 million euros (approximately R$95.8 million) . FIFA rules reserve up to 5% of the transfer fee paid by clubs to reward all clubs that contributed to the development of the athlete between the ages of 12 and 23. In Vinícius' case, Flamengo accumulated 3.05% because he left the club at the age of 21.
This transfer reinforces the sustainable business model of the red-black base, which obtained financial returns even without the sale of the athlete in loco. To give you an idea, a similar mechanism yielded the club around R$11 million in the sale of Lucas Paquetá, for example. The amount of R$3 million will be deposited directly into the club's coffers.
Transfer: 15 million euros (~R$ 95.8 million)
Solidarity percentage: 3.05%
Estimated total for Flamengo: R$3 million
This amount is not exceptional for an individual transfer, but it shows how small amounts can generate consistent resources for the club. When added to other negotiations – especially of athletes revealed at Ninho –, these revenues reinforce the financial viability of the red-black base without depending on immediate sales.
With Kyle Walker leaving for Burnley, Manchester City is considering investing in Cria do Ninho, a full-back from Mais Querido, who is already the target of an offer from an Italian team

Right-back Kyle Walker's move to newly-promoted Burnley has opened a gap in Manchester City's squad. The 35-year-old defender opted not to stay at the club despite having a contract until 2026 , and ended his career under Pep Guardiola, in which he was a key player in successful campaigns, such as the 2022/23 Treble.
With his departure confirmed, the English club is evaluating alternatives in the market to strengthen the sector , and the name of Wesley, a standout player at Mais Querido, appears as one of the main options. According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, the Citizens are considering formalizing an offer for the young full-back.
Manchester City currently only have Rico Lewis, 20, and Issa Kaboré, 24 , as their right-backs. Neither of them, however, has managed to establish themselves in the starting line-up, which led Guardiola to improvise midfielder Matheus Nunes in the role.
Given this scenario, the hiring of a consolidated full-back becomes urgent. Wesley, 21, has been standing out since Filipe Luís arrived on the coaching staff and is attracting attention from European football due to his speed, marking and offensive projection.
While Manchester City is still evaluating the terms of a possible move, Roma has already made progress in negotiations with a concrete proposal. The Italian club offered around 25 million euros (around R$160 million), including bonuses, through a loan model with an obligation to buy — a common strategy to get around limitations imposed by UEFA's Financial Fair Play.
