Flamengo focuses its efforts on preparation to face Bolívar (BOL) at Maracanã this Thursday (15) at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) in the first game of the round of 16 of the Libertadores. For the match, the red and black team must count on the return of an important player in the defensive system.
This is right-back Guillermo Varela. The player, who was left out of the 1-1 draw with Palmeiras last Sunday (11) due to a hip injury, trained with the squad normally last Tuesday (13) and should be available to coach Tite for the Libertadores. The question now is whether Varela will be able to start against Bolívar, or whether Wesley, who has a proposal from Atalanta in Italy, he will be kept in the role. Bruno Henrique, a player who will be a key player for Flamengo in this final stretch of the season due to Pedro's injury, expressed his sadness over his teammate's situation and revealed his desire to "make up" for the support he received from the number 9 in 2022 .
“I hope I can do this, like Pedro did in 2022, when I was away. He was the king of America, he led Flamengo to titles, a very important player, not only on the field, but also outside”, commented Bruno Henrique.
In an interview with ESPN, Bruno Henrique commented on the serious injury de Pedro, highlighting that this type of injury is one of the most feared by professional athletes.
