Remembering that in 2023, Flamengofiled a lawsuit against 11 UOL journalists for publishing an interview with engineer José Augusto Bezerra, who accused the club of having tampered with the fire scene. Furthermore, Rubro Negro banned reporter Léo Burlá, author of the article, from entering Ninho do Urubu until the journalistic company retracted its statement.

RECONTRUCTION OF THE NINHO FIRE

Still According to UOL, the Netflix documentary was developed based on an original idea from UOL, based on reports about the tragedy. The company has not yet announced whether Bezerra's complaint and the legal dispute with Flamengo will be part of the report.

The series will be called "Ninho: Futebol e Tragédia" and will be divided into three episodes. In addition to interviews, the series will feature never-before-seen images and recreate the fire in dramatized scenes.

The documentary is directed by Flamengo fan, Pedro Asbeg, who is also the author of a documentary about the former player Rondinelli, "O Deus da Raça" and another about the end of the Maracanã general.

Idol of Flamengo, Rondinelli, who became known as God of Race, recently turned 70 and received a special documentary about his career and life. The former player has “Rondinelli – 70 years of Deus da Raça” available on Fla TV+ and GloboPlay platforms.

Flamengo published an excerpt of the documentary on its social networks with an emotional interview with Rondinelli . The eternal star says he knew he was a limited athlete and tells how he always made up for it. He sends an important message that shows how he became known as God of Race.

Rondinelli states that if he had to, he would die on the field wearing Flamengo's shirt, and as he says this, his eyes fill with tears , denoting the love he feels for Rubro-Negro to this day. The scene is moving and the idol even mentions his family and the Nation.

“Rondinelli always knew the limitations, but he never knew the limitations that if I had to die, playing for Flamengo, for any attitude , I would die on the field. Because Flamengo was everything in my life. Everything that Rondinelli and his family, my wife, Darli, my son, Antônio José, my daughter Fabiana and my grandson, my sisters and my parents. This is the essence of everything. To conclude the line of reasoning, it is the respect that this generation had for the 12th player. We never disappoint this Rubro-Negra Nation”, says Rondinelli.

Rondinelli scored a goal that started Flamengo's golden generation

Even Zico agrees and says that Rondinelli’s goal in 1978 “freed the generation”. It was only after Carioca's victory over Vasco that year that the generation was able to start stacking cups. Thus, the star was very important, especially after finishing second in the 76 and 77 State Championships.

In 78, Flamengo arrived under pressure and there was still a lot of distrust towards those players. But the goal at lights out made Mengão lift the cup, blowing up the Maracanã and kick-starting the most memorable period in the club's history.
