Another candidate for the presidency of Flamengo, Wallim Vasconcelos gave details about his plans to, if elected, lead Mais Querido for the next three years this past Friday (9). Participating in the Charla Podcast, the former director of Rubro-Negro cited three pillars that support the first changes at the club, if he becomes the new president.

Wallim cited three important points that, according to him, need to be reviewed to improve the structuring of Flamengo. The pillars would be: New statute, construction of the stadium and football governance.

CHANGE IN STATUTE:

“I have been asking for changes to the statute since the beginning of 2022. It is fundamental a modern statute for the future of Flamengo. This statute, which has served the club very well until now, for 32 years, but is completely outdated. I asked for this in January or February 2022, but nothing happened,” said Wallim.

STADIUM CONSTRUCTION

“I was in favor, as we cannot miss the opportunity. There are risks, but the risks are mapped and, in a way, they are mitigated. The first point to make: separate the club's accounts from the stadium's accounts. The stadium has to be self-financing. You have to build a stadium according to the conditions you have to raise money”, he added.

CHANGES IN FOOTBALL CONTROL

“The model is exhausted. If you use the old model, Marcos Braz worked there in 2019. It works, but there is instability, there is a deadline to finish. We have to change the football model. Flamengo has reached a level that needs to change. The president, the club's CEO, the sporting director and the coach who must dictate football.”

REASON TO CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENCY OF FLAMENGO

“Neither BAP nor Rodrigo Dunshee presented their proposals yet. Then, time passed, the partners pressured me to make a decision, and I decided to go ahead, even though 60% were undecided. Up front, everything is possible, (making) compositions, it will depend on how each candidate will be in the polls”, said the candidate.
