In the third round of the Libertadores group stage, Central Córdoba and Deportivo Táchira face each other this Thursday (24), at 7 pm (Brasília time), in Santiago del Estero. The match promises to shake up the Group E table, where Flamengo is currently in third place. The result of the duel could change the group's leadership, leaving all teams with similar points or maintaining the current configuration.
With the draw between Flamengo and LDU last Tuesday (22), the group scenario became quite balanced. The Ecuadorian team leads with five points, followed by Central Córdoba and Flamengo, both with four. The Argentine team appears in second place by the tiebreaker criteria. Deportivo Táchira has not yet scored, but still has a chance of reacting.
If Central Córdoba wins the match, they will reach seven points and take sole leadership of the group. The Argentine team, participating in an international competition for the first time , surprised by beating the Rio de Janeiro club at Maracanã. A new victory would strengthen their position and increase the pressure on their opponents in the next rounds of the Libertadores.
On the other hand, Deportivo Táchira needs to win to stay alive in the competition . Although they have not yet scored any points, the Venezuelan team can shake up the table and, in addition, benefit Flamengo. If this happens, the difference between the leader and the last placed team would be just two points, which would reignite the fight for the places in the round of 16.
For Flamengo to return to second place in this round, Central Córdoba must be defeated by a two-goal margin. Currently, the Argentine team has a goal difference of +1, compared to Rubro-Negro's 0. Since both teams have scored two goals so far, a two-goal defeat would leave Central with a negative goal difference, which would put Mengão ahead. A draw, on the other hand, would keep the table as it is, requiring more from the Rio de Janeiro team in the following matches of the competition.

Gil, ex-Corinthians, when declaring retirement: "the only thing missing was playing for Flamengo"
