The Flamengo drew 1-1 with Millonarios (COL), this Tuesday (02), in the debut of the Libertadores. After the match, the Rio club's vice president of football, Marcos Braz, spoke about the chances of new players being signed for the remainder of the season in the current transfer window.

"Flamengo always monitors some players, in all positions. We have this difficulty, everyone knows the difficulty that Flamengo will have in calling up the national teams. But I don't think it's possible for Flamengo to go to the market and bring players all the time", began the director.< /p>

"Because if Flamengo brings players, they will probably be called up by the national teams, and we will lose the player in the same way. We will face this in the best possible way. Flamengo, I think that the players who are not called up, who remain in Flamengo's squad, they are high quality players and we trust them", concluded Braz.

Forward Petterson had his visa regularized and leaves this Thursday (25) for Portugal. Flamengo loaned the 20-year-old player to Estrela Amadora, a team in Portugal's first division. The loan contract between the Portuguese club and Mengão runs until June 2025.

If Estrela Amadora chooses to buy the player, they will have to pay the amount of €750,000 (R$4.4 million ) for 60% of Petterson's economic rights. The information is from Flazoeiro. With 9 goals in 30 games in the 2023 season, the player won three titles in Mengão's youth categories: the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa do Brasil under-17, both in 2021, and the Brasileirão Under-20 in 2023. After a During his loan period at Athletico Paranaense, Petterson packed his bags for Portugal.

At the Paraná club, he debuted with a goal, but an act of indiscipline caused him to be removed and no longer play. He even had a new loan to Avaí, which didn't happen. Now he will have another chance to prove himself.

About Estrela Amadora, Petterson's new club

The club finished the last season of the Portuguese League in 14th place, with seven wins, 15 defeats and 12 draws. In the League Cup, the team was eliminated in the first round; in the Portuguese Cup, Estrela Amadora fell through in the fourth round.

The result in the Portuguese Championship, however, was considered satisfactory. This is because the team returned to compete in the local elite after 15 years. The objective was maintenance.

In the new team, Petterson can expect to find many Brazilians among his teammates. The club has names like André Luiz and Daniel Cabral (both ex-Flamengo), Bruno Brígido (ex-Criciúma) and Léo Jabá (ex-Corinthians). Currently the club plays in the pre-season of European football.

Last Tuesday (16),  Marcos Brazhas decided not to continue as Flamengo's vice-presidency of football in 2025, even if the situation wins the election at the end of the year. Rodolfo Landim's name for his succession is that of his current vice general, Rodrigo Dunshee de Abranches. In this sense, the red-black presidential candidate does not intend to convince Braz to continue at the club.

In response to journalist Mauro César Pereira, Dsunhee replied:

"We respect the position Marcos. Our football is very well organized, we won countless titles and important victories. When we didn't win, we competed for many other titles until the end and this is the envy of all the clubs in Brazil. Flamengo's Regatas is ready and mature to continue without Marcos' collaboration. We can and must always improve, but it is necessary to recognize the advances and achievements of the Landim management. even for selection recently, which only reinforces the professionalism and competence of our employees. Marcos is a great benefactor, a great red and black man and deserves respect", said the manager, who concluded...

"A We respect Marcos' position and if he announced that will leave in 2025. Let's continue without him, with the professionals we value. I'm not considering convincing him otherwise."

Also asked about a successor, Flamengo's current vice general commented:

"I don't have any names. Not even my general vice president has been chosen. The football department is already 99.9% professional, only Marcos (Braz) is not professional. If they come up with 20 names, I'll say I'm not thinking about that right now. I just found out from Marcos that he won't follow and I'm not going to deal with it at the moment."
