With the same determination and grit that have marked their campaign so far, Sesc RJ Flamengo reaches the quarterfinals of the Superliga to face Osasco in a decisive series. In an extremely balanced tournament, the team recognizes the challenges, but trusts in the work developed to seek classification.

Libero Laís , who stands out in the competition's passing statistics and is second with the most efficient pass in the Superliga, highlighted the group's commitment and the mentality needed to face this new phase of the competition.

Sesc RJ Flamengo is a very hard-working team. We continue to work hard, seeking victories and the best performance on the court. It has been a very tough and balanced Superliga, with several teams taking turns in the top positions, showing the reality of greater uniformity among the teams. Now, it is as if everything has been reset and a new championship begins. We have at least two very difficult games against Osasco, an opponent that needs no introduction, but we really want these victories and we are going after them — he stated.

Laís reinforces that individual success is a consequence of collective effort and the daily demands of the work led by coach Bernardinho.

I don't think there's any secret other than hard work. Bernardo is always demanding our best, our 110%, and that keeps us constantly improving. I'm happy with the stats, of course, but our focus is always on the team, especially in my position. If we have good volume and an efficient backcourt, we make the setter and attackers' work easier. That's the mission: to seek speed, precision in passing and efficiency in defense so that the team can play even better — he analyzed.

In addition to the intensity of training, studying the match is also a determining factor in Sesc RJ Flamengo's preparation. Laís highlighted the importance of reading the game and mapping out the opponent's plays to have strategic positioning on the court.

We tend to watch a lot of videos of our opponents. There is this tactical aspect that is studied a lot. We try to map out the plays, with the best positioning for passing, receiving, blocking... Volleyball is like a game of chess, it requires a lot of study of all positions — he explained.

An admirer of Fabi, one of the greatest liberos in the history of Brazilian volleyball and an icon of Sesc RJ Flamengo, Laís continues to build her own path, with a lot of sweat and training. Alongside her teammates, she is preparing for another great challenge and promises to give everything on the court to beat Osasco and continue fighting for the Superliga title.

Sesc RJ Flamengo will face Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde this Saturday (29), at 9 pm, at Ginásio José Liberatti, in Osasco, for the first game of the Superliga quarterfinals. The series will be played in the best of three matches , with the second match scheduled for April 2, at Maracanãzinho, in Rio de Janeiro. If necessary, the third game will take place on April 11, again in Osasco. The matches will be broadcast live on the SporTV2 channel and on the VBTV platform.

Sesc Flamengo achieved an important victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube, this Tuesday (7), and sealed its place in the final of the Carioca Volleyball Championship. After the setback against Fluminense in the previous round, Bernardinho's team reacted with authority and won by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25/21, 25/23 and 25/23.

Despite a brief stumble in the third set, when the opponent showed a strong reaction , Mais Querido maintained control of the match for most of the time and ensured its return to the state final.

CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE

The first two sets had a similar storyline: Sesc Flamengo dominated technically and tactically, but faced resistance from Tijuca Tênis Clube. In the first, the red-and-black team opened up a six-point lead, but saw their opponent close in late in the set, finishing 25-21.

The balance continued in the second set. The teams were tied at 20-20, until Mengão managed to open up a two-point lead and close it out at 25-23, extending their lead. In the third set, Tijuca fought back and took an 11-4 lead, exploiting Sesc Flamengo's defensive lapses. However, Bernardinho's team held their nerve, narrowed the gap, and regained control in the final stretch, turning the score around to 25-23.

FLUMINENSE WILL BE THE OPPONENT

With this result, Sesc Flamengo secured a spot in the final of the Rio de Janeiro Volleyball Championship, where they will once again face Fluminense—the team they defeated in the previous round. The final promises to be a tight contest, featuring two of the strongest squads in the state.
