In testimony as a guest and witness at the CPI on the Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting in the Federal Senate, this Monday (22/4), John Textor, owner of Botafogo's SAF, cited more games with errors arbitration that would have favored Palmeiras in the 2023 Brazilian Championship.
With a very flawed translation from the Federal Senate, which hindered a better understanding, John Textor cited Palmeiras' 1-0 victory over Vasco, when the Cruz-Maltino team had a goal disallowed for offside, and against Bahia, by the same score. The North American businessman also spoke again about the expulsion of defender Adryelson in Botafogo 3×4 Palmeiras.
I discovered that something wrong was happening on 8/27/2023 (date of Palmeiras 1×0 Vasco), the Botafogo had a big points lead, and something happened in that game that I intend to discuss here in a secret session that I thought would not be possible in an elite division of the sport. The games I watched, which affected Botafogo indirectly, I tried to see differently, from that 27th of August onwards.
Textor also asked for more transparency from the CBF in the choice of referees
"We saw the same combination of field and video referee, there is a black box of referee selection and I believe that the CBF should be more transparent about the way referees are chosen, as certain pairs of referees were chosen together in more than 20 games", said Textor, also remembering Botafogo's defeat to Flamengo at Nilton Santos in 2023.
The owner of SAF do Botafogo defended the reports from “Good Game !” which show that five São Paulo players committed between five and eight standard deviations of behavior in the 5-0 defeat to Palmeiras, in 2023, and which also point to signs of manipulation in Palmeiras 4×0 Fortaleza, in 2022.
"I only met the people from “Good Game! ” in 2023 and I took comfort in meeting them and discovering that they were able to detect that corruption was occurring in real time and I hope to address it in a secret section. This report (holds up a document) of 188 pages is of. just a game, I believe it could be accepted by the courts, it is very detailed. I am putting my credibility to the test, I see how I am being treated, the world is paying attention to the SAFs in Brazil. I am being sued in court, the president of the CBF is not. accepted my request to meet with him for more than a year, I never accused Palmeiras of any type of irregularity. I believe that Palmeiras could be part of it and participate, since he is innocent. My focus is not Palmeiras, not anyone. I believe that integrity should be respected", he stressed.
Secret session
After the public session, there will be a secret session in which John Textor will deliver more documents to the senators. Secrecy is necessary as there are names of players allegedly involved, and the intention is that everyone can defend themselves before their names are released.
CPI rapporteur, Romário (PL-RJ) congratulated him. John Textor for traveling to Brasília and making himself available to help with the investigation work.
"I congratulate Mr. John Textor for the courage to come here and say what he said and, above all, what he is going to do in this so-called secret meeting. Many back there doubted and didn't believe that you would have proof. I even heard many call him a braggart and a liar. I believe that with his ability and intelligence to demonstrate what he has, he will be of great relevance for this CPI, for football and for our country", said Romário.

O Flamengo inicia nos próximos dias o caminho para a decisão da Copa Libertadores. A delegação rubro-negra embarcará rumo a Lima, no Peru, após cumprir compromisso pelo Brasileirão diante do Atlético-MG. Em meio à preparação para o duelo decisivo, o atacante Bruno Henrique divulgou um vídeo na manhã desta segunda-feira convocando os torcedores para um novo AeroFla.
No conteúdo publicado nas redes sociais, o camisa 27 pediu presença maciça da torcida na recepção da equipe: “Fala, Nação. Estou aqui para convocar todos para mais um AeroFla histórico. Contamos com a presença de todos vocês para que, juntos, possamos fazer história. Valeu? Um abraço. Vamos nessa, estamos juntos”, declarou o atacante.
O encontro está marcado para quarta-feira (26), às 15h (horário de Brasília), no Aeroporto Internacional do Galeão, no Rio de Janeiro. A festa pode ser ainda maior caso o Flamengo se torne campeão brasileiro nesta terça-feira (25).
Antes da viagem internacional, o Mengão encara o Atlético-MG, nesta terça-feira (25), às 21h30, em Belo Horizonte, pela 36ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. Logo após o confronto, a delegação retorna ao Rio de Janeiro para dar sequência ao planejamento da final continental.
A chegada da equipe ao Rio está prevista justamente para o horário marcado do AeroFla no Galeão, momento em que a torcida promete lotar os arredores do terminal para apoiar o elenco em busca do quarto título da Conmebol Libertadores.

A Superliga Feminina 2025 terá um grande clássico nesta segunda-feira (24), quando Osasco e Sesc RJ Flamengo se enfrentam pela sétima rodada da competição. A partida está marcada para as 21h (de Brasília), no Ginásio José Liberatti, em São Paulo, com transmissão do SporTV 2 e da Volleyball World TV (VBTV).
O Osasco chega ao confronto como líder da tabela, com 17 pontos, tendo um jogo a mais do que o Mengão. Logo atrás, aparecem Minas e Flamengo, ambos com 15 pontos. As três equipes permanecem invictas na competição, mas o Rubro-Negro é o único entre elas que não perdeu nenhum set.

Durante a brincadeira, Arrascaeta acertou praticamente todos os resultados apresentados, errando apenas um. O uruguaio disse que o duelo entre Flamengo e LDU, em Quito, havia terminado em 1 a 1, quando na verdade o confronto terminou 0 a 0.
