This Tuesday, the city of Rio de Janeiro published a bidding notice in the Official Gazette for the construction of the future Flamengo stadium in the 86.5 thousand m² area that belonged to an investment fund managed by Caixa. The land, in the port area, was expropriated by Eduardo Paes in June.
According to the notice, the minimum auction price will be R$ 138.5 million — and, therefore, the value for which the City Hall will compensate Caixa. The problem is that the bank values the area at at least R$250 million. However, Caixa did not officially comment on the matter. In this sense, it only says that the expropriation was a unilateral initiative by Paes.
According to information from journalist Lauro Jardim, unofficially, the conversation is more acute and could end up in court. Therefore, a leader declared: "There is room, yes, to judicialize this issue. In short, there is a process coming"

Several Uruguayan newspapers covered the tie between Flamengo and Vasco this Sunday (15). Among the main vehicles, “El País” and “Montevidéu Portal” highlighted that Luiz Araújo left the classic with a possible knee injury and could be absent for Rubro-Negro in the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol, next Thursday (19).
