The city of Rio de Janeiro announced how the organization around the stadium will be for this Wednesday's game, which marks Mais Querido's debut in the Brasileirão at home.

Flamengo makes its home debut for Brazilian Championship against São Paulo, this Wednesday (17th), at 9:30 pm, for the second round of the tournament. With more than 39 thousand tickets sold and a large audience expected, Rio de Janeiro City Hall announced a special traffic scheme around Maracanã.

The ball will roll at 9:30 pm, but CET-RIO will start the closures three hours in advance to accommodate the fans. Important streets in the region will be closed from 6:30 pm, as Prof. Eurico Rabello, Avenida Rei Pelé and Avenida Maracanã, for example. The closures will be implemented gradually and remain in place until 1:30 am on Thursday to also allow fans to leave.

City Hall announced constant monitoring of traffic in the region and more measures that will be adopted around the stadium. The operation includes adjustments to traffic signal times to increase fluidity, 55 traffic officers, six vehicles, 12 motorcycles and 13 panels with information on closure times and alternative routes. In comparison, the number of personnel is greater than in the Carioca final.

Also according to Rio City Hall, vehicle access for residents of the Maracanã area will only be via Av. Paula Sousa and Av. Rua Prof. Eurico Rabelo with proof of residence.

With 40 thousand tickets sold until the beginning of this Wednesday (17), the tendency is for an audience of over 50 thousand at Maracanã . This is because red and black fans are certainly looking for tickets to the match and the stadium receives between 7 and 8 thousand free tickets for Flamengo games.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

The Argentine stressed that he keeps his feet on the ground and that his main goal is to continue showing consistency for the Rubro-Negro , who have the best defense in the Brasileirão, conceding only 10 goals in 22 games. At Maracanã, the Mais Querido conceded only three goals.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.

Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In 2025, he maintained his starting spot in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Estadual . In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.
