The fourth day of the Maria Lenk Trophy was once again marked by two more medals for Flamengo . Gabi Assis shone by winning her third gold medal , this time in the 200m breaststroke, confirming her absolute dominance in the category. The red-and-black athlete had already won the 50m and 100m breaststroke events, ending her participation with a perfect campaign in the breaststroke events.
Despite her great performance, Gabi was very close to reaching the World Championship qualification . Still, she celebrated her achievements and strengthened her bond with the club:
The index didn't come, but I managed to leave with three golds for Flamengo
"When the competition started, I had some goals, which were to win these three medals for Mengo. Unfortunately, I didn't get the target, but I managed to leave with three golds for Flamengo , this club where I train every day."
"Yesterday I was asked if I'm from Rio. I'm not, I'm from São Paulo, but I'm here in this pool every day . I think I was the person who sweated the most, who fought the most here. This pool is my home. When I say that I'm swimming at home, it's because I really feel that way: I belong to Flamengo."
Stephan Steverink also returned to the podium, winning his fourth medal in the competition. In the 800m freestyle event, Stephan had the fourth best time overall, but as two foreign athletes occupied positions on the podium , the red-and-black team secured the silver medal, being the second best Brazilian in the competition.
"I swam the 800m, defended my position and got the silver medal. I'm very happy and excited, we still have two more days of competition. It's my fourth medal here. Let's go for more."
In addition to the individual highlights, Flamengo also had good results in the relay events . In both the men's and women's events, the red-black team finished in fourth place in the 4x200m freestyle relay, reinforcing the group's competitiveness and strength in the collective events.
The team remains firm in the fight for more medals and good results in the coming days of the Maria Lenk Trophy.
The Philadelphia 76ers center was at a shopping mall in Cabo Frio, in the Lakes Region of Rio de Janeiro, and made purchases of Mengão products.

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.
Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.
The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees. Salesman Kauan said he was so nervous when he met the player that he forgot to remove the alarm from a piece of furniture, creating an unusual moment: " His father-in-law even joked with me afterward. It was an unforgettable experience ," he revealed.
Embiid didn't hold back. He brought jerseys for himself, his wife, his father-in-law, and his son , as well as accessories like shorts and thermoses. The visit even helped meet the store's sales goals. The center also obliged some fans and store owners by agreeing to take photos with them.
Embiid's connection with Flamengo isn't new. In 2023, during an interview with the NBA Freestyle program, he revealed that he started supporting Flamengo because of his wife's family: " Actually, I'm a Flamengo fan because my girlfriend's father is a fan . Since we started dating, I've been following the team," he said.
In January 2024, when Flamengo held a preseason training camp in Philadelphia, Embiid met Léo Pereira and Matheus Gonçalves . The defender even posted a photo with the star: " Nice to meet you, brother ." Thus, the relationship between Joel Embiid and Flamengo continues to grow, uniting basketball and soccer in a connection that already transcends borders.
