Scheduled to take place this Friday, in Lausanne, Switzerland, Gabigol's trial at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) was postponed. There is no new date yet, but it is expected to take place in the second half of this year. Punished for attempted fraud in the anti-doping test, the attacker is free to act due to a suspensive effect, but is still awaiting a decision on the merits.
The postponement was due to a request from the Federal Union, which is part of the process and claims that was not properly notified and, therefore, did not appoint an arbitrator for the trial. The federal body requested the advance, and CAS complied.
The impasse, however, begins with the judgment of the suspensive effect. At the time, ABCD (Brazilian Doping Control Authority) missed the deadline for appointing an arbitrator and CAS, to continue the process, appointed an arbitrator. It was decided: two Englishmen and one Swiss. The trio unanimously granted the suspensive effect for Gabigol to return to acting.
The judgment on the merits that was scheduled for this Friday would follow the same dynamics as the judgment on the suspensive effect. The same three arbitrators would attend the hearing and make the decision. On top of this, ABCD, together with the Union, requested the postponement. The tendency is for a new trio of referees to be formed for this trial.
Gabigol chose to participate in the hearing in person and the postponement frustrated the athlete and his representatives. The attacker arrived in Switzerland on Thursday morning, while his lawyer, Bichara Neto, arrived in the country a day earlier. ABCD would participate via videoconference, as going to Switzerland is not mandatory.

Despite the defeat, the team led by Tite still leads the table with 24 points, tied with Rogério Ceni's Bahia, which also has 24 points.

Flamengo agreed to loan 20-year-old striker Petterson to Estrela Vermelha, from Portugal. The contract is valid until the end of June 2025. The information was released by the "GE" portal.
The agreement between Flamengo and Estrela Vermelha includes a purchase option at the end of the loan period. If the Portuguese club wishes to acquire the striker permanently, it must pay 750 thousand euros (approximately R$4.4 million) to Flamengo for 60% of the player's economic rights.
PASSAGE TO ATHLETICO-PR
Petterson was on loan to Athletico-PR until the end of the season, with economic rights set at three million euros (around R$16 millions). However, the striker was removed for disciplinary reasons and ended up no longer being used by the club from Paraná. During his time at Athletico-PR, Petterson played just 32 minutes and scored one goal.
Outside the plans of both Flamengo and Athletico-PR, Petterson had to look for a new destination. Flamengo collaborated to prevent the player from training separately until the end of the contract and found an opportunity to negotiate him with Estrela Vermelha, from Portugal.
