The construction of the Flamengo stadium returned to being highlighted in sports news. Eduardo Paes, mayor of Rio de Janeiro, came to the defense of Rubro-Negro in the face of rumors about a possible increase in the final cost of the work. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the municipal manager also made an outburst on his social networks.

UNDERSTAND THE CONTROVERSY
Eduardo Paes' position came after the newspaper O Globo reported that Flamengo received a notification from theEnergy and Sanitation Regulatory Agency Basic (Agenersa). According to the publication, the club would need to regularize the gas infrastructure service on the land where the stadium will be built. Furthermore, the newspaper stated that these technical issues could increase the total cost of the work for Rubro-Negro.
THE DREAM OF YOUR OWN STADIUM
The dream of having your own stadium has always been present in the history of Flamengo. After years of waiting, the club finally acquired land to build the new home. During the management of Rodolfo Landim, Flamengo completed the purchase of Gasologista, located in thePort Zone of Rio de Janeiro, for around R$ 170 million b>.
Despite having secured the land, the works have not yet started. Flamengo needs to obtain clearances from public bodies, in addition to developing a definitive project to begin construction of the stadium.
NEW MANAGEMENT, NEW EXPECTATIONS
The entire acquisition and planning process for the stadium was led by Rodolfo Landim's management, who scheduled the inauguration for November 2029. Now, with Bap's presidency, the expectation is to know whether the initial schedule will be maintained or if there will be changes to the plans.
The defender continues to improve physically and should return to the field against Internacional in the Brasileirão, after a six-match absence.

Since the victory over Fluminense on July 20, Flamengo's defense has faced a challenge in the absence of Danilo. The defender has missed six consecutive games, including the Copa do Brasil round of 16, but is showing significant progress in his recovery and is expected to return to training with the squad later this week.

On Monday afternoon (11), Conmebol confirmed that the 2025 Copa Libertadores da América final will be played at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru, on November 29. This will be the second time that the venue hosts a tournament decision, after having hosted Flamengo 's historic victory over River Plate in 2019.
The arena, which belongs to the University Club and seats approximately 80,000 spectators , was chosen by the organization after the Peruvian capital had already been confirmed as the host city in April. Brasília and Montevideo were also in the running, but were left out of the final selection.
