The prize and betting secretariat released the list of betting houses authorized to operate in Brazil without the presence of Pixbet and Esportes da Luck. They are the sponsors of Flamengo and Corinthians. After that, the STF (Supreme Federal Court) vetoed the Bets without endorsement operate throughout the country.
But for that the two companies were excluded from the federal government's list? What are the consequences for clubs? Pixbet explained to Flamengo that the lack of authorization is due to the last-minute payment of the grant to the federal government of R$ 30 million.
The betting house understood that it would be able to operate throughout Brazil with payment of the grant only to the state government of Rio, via Loterj. When he realized that the court decisions were not favorable, he decided to pay the grant to the federal government in the last days of 2024. This was consolidated with the STF's decision to deny national operation to Bets with state approval.
But the Pixbet approval by the federal government is not automatic with payment. The Ministry of Finance will analyze the origin of the money and whether it is legal. If there are no problems, authorization will be given. This process takes a few days. To partner Rubro-Negro, the company informed that it expects its situation to be regularized in the coming weeks.
The board Flamengo observes the situation to find out if this will actually happen. Obviously, if the company is rejected in Brazil, the sponsorship contract will be greatly affected and may become unviable. It is the club's biggest sponsor with an annual value of R$110 million. In this case, there are contractual guarantees to reimburse the club for non-compliance with the contract.
Sponsor of Corinthians, Esportes da Sorte was not included in the list for the same reason as exclusion from the provisional list: did not pass the suitability test. The company and its owner Darwin Henrique da Silva Filho are under investigation by the Pernambuco civil police for money laundering. The company's status will hardly change at the Ministry of Finance until there is a reversal of this police case.
The company has been operating nationally with an authorization from Loterj - Rio de Janeiro lottery. But, this week, STF minister André Mendonça issued an injunction prohibiting those who only have state approval from operating in national territory.
That is, , in five days, the company has to only operate bets in Rio. Therefore, Corinthians' sponsorship - worth around R$ 100 million - may no longer make sense.

The authority verified that the company complies with the legal requirements, including Legal Qualification, Tax and Labor Regularity, Economic-Financial Qualification, Technical qualification and meets all the requirements of responsible gaming, in addition to presenting the required certificates of suitability.
In parallel, the company applied for license 030/2024 from SPA/MF, after complying with all legal and normative rites established by legislation and its respective ordinances, and awaits its approval, certain that all regulatory steps were strictly complied with.
In light of these facts, Grupo Esportes da Sorte reaffirms its commitment to regulating the sector and to responsible gambling, aiming to protect the interests of civil society, generating jobs, income and favor of economic, social and cultural development of the country."

After beating Internacional 1-0 at Maracanã , in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Libertadores, Flamengo is preparing for the decisive duel of the return leg, this Wednesday (20), at Beira-Rio. Conmebol confirmed that Uruguayan referee Esteban Ostojich will be responsible for conducting the match .
In the 2025 edition of the tournament, the Uruguayan has already refereed seven matches. The VAR role will be handled by his compatriot Andres Cunha . This, however, is Flamengo 's first match refereeing by Ostojich in the current edition of the continental competition.
In total, there were four Mengão games under Ostojich's refereeing, with two wins, one draw and one defeat .
In the Maracanã match, played last Wednesday (13), Bruno Henrique scored, with a header, the winning goal for the red-black team in the first half. With the result, Filipe Luís' team can draw at Beira-Rio to advance to the quarterfinals .

Flamengo's top scorer this season , Arrascaeta gave a press conference this Friday (15), at Ninho do Urubu, and did not spare praise for coach Filipe Luís. The number 10 highlighted that the coach has been achieving results that others have not achieved at the club.
