The most anticipated classic of the third round of the Brazilian Championship will be played this Sunday (21). Flamengo and Palmeiras face each other at Allianz Parque and open a new chapter in the greatest title hegemony of recent years.
From 2019 to now, Rubro-Negro and alviverde have taken turns winning titles and, together, have been champions 23 times. The subtle advantage belongs to Flamengo, with 12 trophies. Palmeiras, in turn, lifted 11 cups in the meantime.
The tournament that breaks the tie in title statistics between Flamengo and Palmeiras is the Brazilian Super Cup. Rubro-Negro won it twice, in 2020 and 2021, the second being the trophy over Alviverde, in a penalty shootout. The São Paulo team was champion in 2023, precisely over Fla.
Since 2019, Flamengo has won two Copa Libertadores (2019 and 22), two Brazilian Championships (2020 and 21), two Brazilian Super Cups (2020 and 2021), one Recopa Sul-Americana (2020), one Copa do Brasil (2022) and four Cariocas (2019/20/21/24).
Palmeiras also won two Libertadores (2020 and 2021 ), two Brazilians (2022 and 2023), one Brazilian Super Cup (2023), one South American Recopa (2022), one Brazilian Cup (2020) and four Paulistas (2020/22/23/24).

Both teams debuted with victories away from home in the Brasileirão. Flamengo beat Atlético-GO 2-1, at Serra Dourada, while Palmeiras triumphed over Vitória 1-0, at Barradão. In the second round, the results were different. While Fla beat São Paulo 2-1 and reached the top of the Brazilian Championship, Palmeiras lost to Internacional 1-0 and occupies 11th place in the table.
Now, with an eye on more three points in the standings, Palmeiras and Flamengo will face each other at Allianz Parque, this Sunday (21). The ball will roll at 4pm (Brasília time), and the match will be broadcast on TV Globo throughout the country.

Flamengo beat Internacional 1-0 this Wednesday (13) , at Maracanã, and started with an advantage in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Despite the positive result, striker Bruno Henrique assessed that the team lost performance in the second half and explained the reasons for the drop in intensity.
" In the second half, for the first 15 minutes , we want to score right away, and it ends up deviating a bit from what we planned at halftime. We end up being a bit exposed, and the opposing team scores a lot in the first half. In the second half, they have to open up to try to score," said the number 27.
"That's what happened against Internacional. They scored the whole time in the first half. We had more possession, more shots, and more through balls. Before that, the teams will face each other again next Sunday (17), for the Brazilian Championship, again in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).

Midfielder Jorge Carrascal made his debut for Flamengo this Wednesday (13), against Internacional , in a duel valid for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. The Colombian player, who was already regularized, was related last Saturday (9), against Mirassol, but did not enter the field on that occasion.
The opportunity arose during the continental tournament. Carrascal replaced Gonzalo Plata in the 28th minute of the second half and remained on the field for 23 minutes, including stoppage time. Playing at the Maracanã, the athlete made his first appearances in an official match for the red-and-black jersey.

Flamengo showed strength and organization from the opening whistle to defeat Internacional in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores Round of 16, controlling the action against the Colorado team in a packed Maracanã stadium. Just 12 minutes in, Luiz Araújo nearly opened the scoring with a powerful shot saved by Rochet .
