FLAMENGO MAKES AGREEMENT WITH CBF FOR RELEASE OF LORRAN FOR U-20 SELECTION

In the end, dialogue prevailed. CBF and clubs will have their young promises called up for the U20 National Team available on the FIFA Date in June. After requesting the recall of players who are already part of the professional squad, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Corinthians reached a consensus with the entity, which brought forward the end of the training period at Granja Comary.

In this scenario, the red -black Lorran; Estêvão, Luis Guilherme and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras; and Corinthians Wesley and Breno Bidon are available to Ramon Menezes for the start of the preparation cycle for the category's South American Championship, which will take place in 2025, in Peru. The training in Teresópolis that would take place between the 3rd and 11th of June ends on Saturday, the 8th.

Since the weekend, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Corinthians have taken a stand against the release of the six boys, claiming that they will already suffer with absences from the main teams in Data FIFA and that they are no longer part of their youth teams. However, an understanding with the CBF was necessary, since the General Competition Regulations provide for mandatory call-ups for all categories during this period.

The clubs filed letters requesting the recall of Lorran (Flamengo), Estêvão, Luis Guilherme and Vitor Reis (Palmeiras), Wesley and Breno Bidon (Corinthians). Defender Iago and midfielder Rayan Lucas, from Flamengo, and goalkeeper Felipe Longo, from Corinthians, were also called up, but would already be released by the clubs as they were not being used professionally.

In light of the request, Tuesday consisted of meetings between the clubs in search of an alternative and in direct contact with the CBF until consensus was reached. The understanding is that the teams will not be harmed by the return of young people four days before the end of the FIFA Date to prepare for the Brasileirão games, while Brazil will have maximum strength to kick-start the category's cycle.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

But I'm not thinking about that right now . I think that if I do my job well, that call-up could come," Rossi stated.

TOTAL FOCUS ON FLAMENGO

The Argentine stressed that he keeps his feet on the ground and that his main goal is to continue showing consistency for the Rubro-Negro , who have the best defense in the Brasileirão, conceding only 10 goals in 22 games. At Maracanã, the Mais Querido conceded only three goals.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.

Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In 2025, he maintained his starting spot in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Estadual . In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.
