On Thursday night (14) the meeting of the Flamengo Deliberative Council took place. The meeting was scheduled so that club directors and representatives could discuss two proposals to change the red-black status. The measures that would be changed were the duration of the presidential term and the limitation of competition to it.
The vote on the presidential term took place first and ended unanimously: everyone agreed that the president should only remain in office for three years and would continue to be able to seek re-election after the end of this period. However, widespread confusion came in the debate on the second point.
The idea was that any individual who held a political role or worked in public positions could not be elected president of Flamengo. Antônio Alcides, president of the Deliberative Council, declared that the vote had reached a decision: the statute would not be changed.
The former red-black president, Eduardo Bandeira Mello, and his companions celebrated the result. After all, Bandeira Mello is, at the moment, a federal deputy and had previously suggested that the amendment was created to bar him from participating in the next elections, which he denied having any interest in.
However, advisors from the Landim political group, who are opponents of Bandeira Mello, got excited and took the floor at the meeting. Alcides, cornered, tried to go back and redo the election, but the session was already incomplete. Chaos took over and shouts of "dumb, dumb, dumb" were sung towards the president of the Deliberative Council.
The confusion was so great that, in the end, the vote on the amendment was annulled and will be rescheduled. Landim's opposition felt aggrieved, because they argue that the decision had already been taken at the time Alcides made the initial proclamation. Therefore, a coup was alleged.
"The amendment was read, it was appreciated, it was voted on, we won 80% to 20%. The president of the Council declared the result, but he was pressured harshly, they took the microphone from his hand, and he was forced to cancel the session. What was a statutory coup became a real coup. It just didn't have a battle tank", said Bandeira de Mello on his way out. Landim left Gávea headquarters without making a statement.

Sesc Flamengo continues to strengthen itself for the 2025/2026 season and announced the arrival of American winger Simone Lee . The 28-year-old athlete landed in Rio de Janeiro this Friday (15), accompanied by her husband, and shared a video on social media recording her arrival in the Marvelous City.
Preparations for the new cycle are already underway. Simone Lee will soon report to coach Bernardinho at the Army Physical Education School (EsEFEx) in Rio's South Zone, where the red-and-black team trains.
Officially announced on June 2, Simone Lee is one of five signings for the upcoming season. Upon confirming her arrival, the winger sent a message to the nation expressing her enthusiasm for playing for Flamengo :

Flamengo announced this Wednesday (13) that it has terminated its sponsorship agreement with Pixbet . The contract, valid from January 2024, was for two years (until December), with the possibility of automatic renewal for two more seasons — a clause that should be activated in September.

The favorite to take over Flamengo's master sponsorship , SuperBet, faces stiff competition from Betano. The club has not yet decided on a new partner, but expects to sign a contract starting in September. Both companies have submitted three-year proposals, with values exceeding R$200 million per season and bonuses for targets, which could make the deal even more lucrative.
According to the ge portal, SuperBet's offer would surpass the contract signed with São Paulo, valued at R$600 million through 2030 , and could reach R$1 billion once the goals are met. Flamengo is working to make the new deal the largest sponsorship in Brazilian football.
The relationship began to strain after delays in installment payments, a situation the company admitted, acknowledging difficulties in honoring upcoming commitments . There are indications that PixBet will not exercise the renewal clause and will leave the club.
Flamengo 's board of directors wants to end the partnership in September so that the new sponsor can take over the uniforms immediately. PixBet is pleased with this possibility due to the outstanding amounts , but if an amicable agreement isn't reached, the termination will only take place in December, as stipulated in the contract.
Besides SuperBet and Betano, other bookmakers approached the club but withdrew due to the high fees required. If PixBet's exit is confirmed, the next sponsor will need to cover not only the master contract but also the corresponding amount for FlaBet .

Flamengo has gained a high-speed "reinforcement." Four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel received a club shirt autographed by Zico , the greatest idol in the club's history. The delivery took place last Monday (11), during the opening dinner of Rio Innovation Week.
Vettel, who retired from Formula 1 in 2022, is in Brazil to participate in the event that discusses technology and innovation with a focus on sustainability, a cause he embraced even before leaving the track . The event also features other athletes, such as gymnast Rebeca Andrade, who represents Flamengo .
Vettel isn't the only driver to wear the Sacred Mantle. Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, currently in Formula 1, appeared wearing the Flamengo jersey in a photo before his debut in the category. At the time, he had won a race in Austria in Formula 2.
On the current Formula 1 grid, Max Verstappen is a Vasco fan due to the influence of his father-in-law, three-time champion Nelson Piquet . Meanwhile, British driver Lando Norris received a Palmeiras jersey in 2023 and has adopted the jersey as his trademark ever since.
